From now on, these users will see a game hub page when attempting to launch a title on their Xbox console:”Game hubs will appear whenever you select a game from your recently played games lists or your installed games list, and they include a bunch of information that we hope you’ll find as useful as we do. You’ll see information relevant to the game you’ve selected, such as your player stats, achievements, friends who are playing, recent captures, available add-ons, events, and more! And, if you’re in a hurry to start playing, the default focus in game hubs will always be on the Play button to enable a seamless double-tap to play experience from the game tile.”You can get another look at an Xbox Game Hub (courtesy of aRandomWiseGuy on social media) down below:Xbox says that Game Hubs may provide “a slightly different experience to what someone else sees” while the team is refining the feature, and users are being encouraged to share their feedback in order to make it as useful as possible. And, if you aren’t keen on the idea and would rather launch straight into your games without any fuss, a setting has been added already that will allow you to turn it off – so it seems the choice is totally yours!Everything you need to knowLiking the sound of Game Hubs on Xbox? It’s nice to see updates like this that gives off useful tidbits of intel. Keep ’em coming!Sounds similar to the PS UI? I pretty much ignore it on PS, but always nice to see new thingsAm loving the new Game hub layoutIf i’ve understood this right this introduces another button press to play the game. Press A to select and bring up the hub, Press A to play. It’s not a big deal at all, but personally not a fan of that UI ethos. Don’t get in the way of the primary task, playing games!Aside from that I like the layout and info, I just wish it was selected a different way.I hope there is an option to disable it as I am not a fan of unasked for clutter. If I want to find achievements or whatever I will go look for them specifically there is no need to shove it down my throat every time I select a game.@themightyant Well they did say they wanted to make Xbox more like windows and I swear that requires more clicks to do basic stuff with every iteratinon
Oh cool, I do like a stats screen, especially the time played.@themightyant I agree, whilst in of itself it’s not a big deal, I’m not a fan of UI design putting extra steps in the way of what the devices primary functions areIsn’t this just the same (or similar to) the existing Game Cards that show up as an option when pressing the menu button on a game?@AccessibleDaydream I think, unless I am wrong, that it’s an additional info panel on the Game Cards. Same as before, but with an extra digital sheet of info.@Kaloudz Oh interesting. Also it’s been a long while since I’ve seen you around these parts. You doing good man?@AccessibleDaydream I am thank you! How the heck are you doing?Hopefully it helps when trying buy a game and the game has 50 million bajillion editions. Seen numerous times, one edition looks be complete edition, but there is another edition that has more. And don’t get me started on the Xbox one versus Xbox Series X. I’ve almost bought Xbox one edition not knowing is a Series X version.Way too and unnecessarily confusing process just to buy a game.@Kaloudz I’m doing better! Things are still tough, but I’m managing. Competitive Splatoon is a thing I do now, lol, and it’s going really well.@AccessibleDaydream I’m glad you’re doing better.
