WWE SmackDown preview (Feb. 14, 2025): Charlotte Flair’s WrestleMania decision got a little more complicated – Cageside Seats

Filed under:SmackDown airs tonight (Feb. 14) with a live show emanating from Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. This is the second episode of SmackDown during the four week build towards Elimination Chamber, which takes place on March 1. Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair spent last week touring Raw, NXT, and SmackDown looking for inspiration to make the right choice for her WrestleMania 41 opponent. Up to this point, I think most people assumed she’ll face either Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley or WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. However, things got a little more complicated last week when former world champion Nia Jax inserted herself into the equation.Jax interrupted Flair as she was demanding that Stratton get on her hands and knees and beg to be her WrestleMania opponent. Nia revealed that she spoke to GM Nick Aldis and got herself a title match against Stratton on Valentine’s Day. The Queen was intrigued by this news and said she’ll stick around for their championship match to see what happens. So it will be Stratton vs. Jax tonight with the title on the line, and Flair possibly lurking in the background. Tiffany won the belt from Nia last month after a surprise attack from behind with the Money in the Bank briefcase and a KOD assist from Bianca Belair. Can the champ find a way to beat Jax when she doesn’t have those advantages from the outset? Will Nia put an end to Tiffy Time by flattening her to the mat with the Annihilator? Will Charlotte be ready to make a WrestleMania decision shortly after this match is over?Tune into SmackDown tonight to find out.Damian Priest vs. Jacob Fatu vs. Braun Strowman is scheduled for SmackDown. This is a qualifying match for the men’s Elimination Chamber match. Strowman and Fatu have their own feud going on, so perhaps they will take each other out en route to a win for Priest.Naomi vs. Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green takes place tonight in a non-title match. The winner qualifies for the women’s Elimination Chamber. If Bianca Belair and Piper Niven are ringside for this bout, they will likely come to blows while trying to assist their respective allies to victory. Motor City Machine Guns vs. Los Garza is also booked for tonight. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley want revenge on the Street Profits for screwing them over at Royal Rumble. Before that can happen, they’ll resolve some unfinished business with Los Garza, who walked out on them in an 8-man tag match a couple weeks ago.- LA Knight tried to get his shit in last week, but he was ultimately pinned by Drew McIntyre after taking a claymore to the back of the head. Are their issues over for now so that the megastar can go back to fighting the New Bloodline?- Speaking of the New Bloodline, Solo Sikoa returned last week and laid out WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Solo has already failed multiple times to win the belt from Rhodes, but I guess he’ll have to lose one more time before the rest of the New Bloodline realizes he isn’t strong enough to lead them. Now that Solo is back, will he finally address the fact that he’s no longer Tribal Chief?- Pretty Deadly pulled off a fluke win over WWE Tag Team Champions DIY last week, so now they’ve earned a shot at the gold. Will WWE announce a date for the title match during tonight’s broadcast?- Is anybody in WWE ever going to figure out who attacked Jade Cargill?- The Wyatt Sicks have yet to show up since officially moving over to SmackDown, but there were some Wyatt-related glitches going on during Alexa Bliss’ match last week. Will Alexa get some promo time to address her relationship with the group?- The Miz needs to make a new friend just in case the Wyatts come looking for him, and R-Truth might just be the newest member of the SmackDown roster. Is the A-Lister so desperate for backup that he’ll try to make up with his former tag team partner?- Carmelo Hayes thinks General Manager Nick Aldis has it out for him. Will Aldis prove he is right by booking Carmelo in another surprise match against a Raw star?- Katana Chance and Kayden Carter are now on the SmackDown roster, but is there anybody for them to face in the women’s tag team division?- United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura needs a new challenger. If Jimmy Uso is tired of being stuck in Jey’s shadow, perhaps it’s time for Big Jim to pursue singles gold.- Will Kevin Owens send in another promo from his car on Valentine’s Day reminding everyone that Sami Zayn is a horrible friend and disgusting human being?- Does former AEW star Ricky Starks feel like showing up on the WWE main roster tonight without telling us what his name is?- It looks like Aleister Black and Rusev are also gone from AEW. Will one of them steal all the headlines by returning to WWE tonight?- Where the f*** is Randy Orton? What will you be looking for on SmackDown?Check your inbox for a welcome email.Oops.
