BOTELHO | The National News DeskTOPICS:A 40-year-old woman was arrested when police caught her with explosives at a Tesla dealership in Colorado, according to authorities. The Loveland Police Department said Lucy Grace Nelson — whose alias includes Justin Thomas Nelson — is facing multiple felony charges, including the following: Police said Nelson was taken into custody Monday shortly before midnight. They said her arrest was based on “probable cause obtained through an extensive investigation” that kicked off during the end of January. Citing an affidavit, 9News reported the dealership was vandalized a total of five times, with the first incident occurring Jan. 29 after “someone walked onto the parking lot and threw a Molotov cocktail, made inside a Smirnoff Ice bottle, at a Cybertruck.” Then, on Feb. 2, a suspect spray painted the word “Nazi” on a Tesla sign, according to the media outlet. The report also noted “four to five Molotov cocktails” were hurled at vehicles a few days later, with spray paint used to deface the building. The media outlet also said a security guard who was hired by Tesla told authorities she “chased someone off the property as they were spray painting” on Feb. 11.9News also said someone spray painted the word ‘Nazi’ on the building, as well as on approximately 15 vehicles in the parking lot, later in the month. Police said a judge issued a $100,000 cash surety bond for Nelson.”The Loveland Police Department continues to work closely with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Denver Field Division, with Federal charges likely to follow,” police said. Authorities urged anyone who has information about Nelson or the caes to call the LPD Tip Line at 970-962-2032 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868. Tesla is owned by billionaire Elon Musk, who President Donald Trump recently tapped to lead DOGE. In January, Musk was criticized for a gesture he made during a Trump event, with some saying it appeared to be a Nazi salute. Musk later called out his critics on X. “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired,” he wrote.
