To make this more manageable, you can schedule a time when your computer is restarted to finish the installation. After installing this update, Windows 10 22H2 will be updated to build 19045.5487 and Windows 10 21H2 will be build 19044.5487.Windows 10 users can also manually download and install the KB5051974 update from the Microsoft Update Catalog. The KB5051974 update includes fixes for numerous bugs in Windows 10, including one that prevented Capture Service and Snipping Tool from responding and a memory leak bug. This update includes a total of eleven fixes or changes, with the highlighted ones listed below:Microsoft says that there are three known issues, all of which were introduced in previous updates. After installing the update, OpenSSH connections on Windows may no longer work as the SSHD service fails to start automatically. This can be fixed by manually starting the SSHD service.”Following the installation of the October 2024 security update, some customers report that the OpenSSH (Open Secure Shell) service fails to start, preventing SSH connections. The service fails with no detailed logging, and manual intervention is required to run the sshd.exe process,” explains Microsoft.Microsoft also says that the January 2025 and later Windows updates may fail if Citrix Session Recording Agent (SRA) version 2411 is installed on the device.”As a workaround, stop the Session Recording Monitoring service, install the Microsoft security update, and enable the Session Recording Monitoring service,” explains a Citrix support bulletin.Devices with certain Citrix components installed might be unable to complete the January 2025 Windows security update installation. This issue was observed on devices with Citrix Session Recording Agent (SRA) version 2411. The 2411 version of this application was released in December 2024.Finally, the Windows EventViewer may incorrectly display an Event 7023 error about SgrmBroker.exe, stating, “The System Guard Runtime Monitor Broker service terminated with the following error: %%3489660935.” Microsoft says that SgrmBroker.exe currently serves no purpose and that this error does not impact any functionality on the device and will be fixed in future updates.A complete list of fixes can be found in the KB5051974 support bulletin and last month’s KB5050081 preview update bulletin.Windows 10 KB5049981 update released with new BYOVD blocklistWindows 10 KB5048652 update fixes new motherboard activation bugMicrosoft February 2025 Patch Tuesday fixes 4 zero-days, 55 flawsMicrosoft January 2025 Patch Tuesday fixes 8 zero-days, 159 flawsWindows 11 KB5050009 & KB5050021 cumulative updates released”Microsoft also warns that there will be no Windows 10 preview updates in December due to the holidays. The preview updates will resume in January 2025.”
Thanks, that is really good to know…..
Just imagine… millions of people using a system, where someone else can force install his garbage.Sorry, that line was in there by mistake :)Hopefully, it can still be removed, as by this PowerShell script: Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Package (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.OutlookForWindows).PackageFullNameStill using an application just for email?! In 2025?! Wow…. 1995 just called and wants Pegasus Mail back.
Just use your browser boomer. As your generation is proving itself daily to be basically wrong on just about everything, we will simply stick with what we know works. For my generation your constant trip of “optimizing” is simply another sign of your incompetence and inferiorit complex. Why would one only want to use some of the fetures that a full app can give you? The problem with “new” Outlook is that it is the web version made in to an app, so the absolute worst of all worlds.”Still using an application just for email?! In 2025?! Wow…. 1995 just called and wants Pegasus Mail back.
Just use your browser boomer.”
Please tell me you think about things a little more than that. Here’s one example, Outlook has a plugin community that currently cannot be duplicated on the web version because they haven’t advanced the web platform far enough yet to attain feature parity. I personally use the browser, but there are times when I need to fire up good ol Outlook to run something that I can’t do online.Just Windows 10? I found it on all of my Windows 11 (24h2) devices when I got home last night. Right click, uninstalled the moment I saw it. Installing software like that, without asking user permission, is something malware does, not a company that wants us to trust it without question. Not a member yet?
