UPDATED: Top star reportedly storms out of WWE Royal Rumble – Wrestleview.com
-Updated 2/2/25 @ 8:10 PM ET-Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed previous reports that Drew McIntyre was frustrated about someone “having to get their moves in.” It was rumored that the name in question was Logan Paul. However, it has been confirmed that it is not Paul. Sapp further indicated Damian Priest and McIntyre were set to start a feud that would take them through WrestleMania. Sapp added that McIntyre has had similar situations, such as not being happy when CM Punk returned to WWE prior to working together and then having a match at the Bad Blood premium live event, in which Punk came out victorious. Fightful Select concluded by saying that McIntyre was absent for the Royal Rumble after party. In another update from PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson indicates there are sources who believed that McIntyre was not happy about LA Knight’s “errant movement” when he had interrupted the planned elimination between McIntyre and Priest. The report also notes that Knight was mentioned as it pertained to McIntyre. It was further said that sources within WWE have been in contact with McIntyre, and those same sources played down the situation, noting that it could rectified. **********-Updated 2/2/25 @ 11:05 AM ET-Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio has confirmed the report from PWInsider regarding Drew McIntyre’s backstage tirade that occurred at Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble. This then led to McIntyre leaving Lucas Oil Stadium before the show came to a close.PWInsider first reported that backstage, McIntyre screamed, cursed and then ranted that “someone had to get their moves in” at the expense of a number of stories for the matchMeltzer added that McIntyre was not the only one upset about the situation. “There’s a guy that a lot of people were pissed at in that match with the idea that he was trying to get himself over and not the match over…It’s multiple people telling me that the Drew thing was…he wasn’t happy. It’s not an angle…I heard that Drew was not the only one unhappy about the situation.”Meltzer further notes the name of the person in question will likely come out soon.
