The OnePlus 13 wants to win back customers who were burned by faulty hardware in the past – Android Police
OnePlus has gone global with its latest flagships, the OnePlus 13 and 13R, after their China launch. Packed with premium features and smart pricing, they’re aiming for the top of the Android flagship race. To sweeten the deal, OnePlus is throwing in some killer launch deals and perks, including a 180-day replacement policy in India. The new replacement program for the OnePlus 13 series aims to give users peace of mind for the first six months, according to OnePlus’ press release. This covers major parts like the display, back panel, battery, and motherboard. If any of these components fail due to manufacturing issues, you can skip the hassle of repairs and get a replacement device instead. If you grab a OnePlus 13 or 13R in India before February 13, and activate it within 30 days, you’ll get free 180-day replacement coverage for any hardware issues. After that date, you can opt for an extended replacement plan—adding three more months—for ₹2599 (OnePlus 13) or ₹2299 (OnePlus 13R). To use the replacement service, just head to an authorized OnePlus service center to confirm your eligibility. Not everyone gets this extended coverage thoughThe new replacement policy is on top of OnePlus’ lifetime display warranty for all models sold in India. It’s a lifesaver for issues like those pesky green lines that pop up long after the regular warranty runs out.The replacement program is just one piece of OnePlus’ ‘Project Starlight,’ a plan to totally revamp the customer experience in India with a focus on faster service, more transparent communication, and making in-store visits way better.Meanwhile, in the US, OnePlus sticks to a more standard approach to customer service. You get a 15-day window for refunds or replacements and a one-year warranty for manufacturing defects. Unlike in India, display issues like green lines aren’t covered beyond the warranty. For extra peace of mind, OnePlus offers paid protection under ‘OnePlus Care,’ which includes accidental damage coverage, screen protection, and extended warranties. If OnePlus took this guarantee global, it’d be a huge win, especially in the US. A policy like this could pull high-end buyers away from Samsung and Apple. More to the point, it’d give the brand a strong edge, build trust, and make people feel way more comfortable splurging on a premium phone.Your changes have been savedEmail is sentEmail has already been sentThe OnePlus 13 is packing some serious specs, crazy battery life, and a camera that can give the Pixel a run for its money. It’s definitely gunning for the leading Android phones with its top-notch performance. We want to hear from you! Weak software support, good hardware specs with inconsistent software.Too little too late. I just had switched from my OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren to a new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. I’m not likely to change phones again for at least another 5 years. This policy is available only if you buy the phone before 13 Feb and only for 6 months? What a joke. BBK products can die anytime, before or after the 6 month protection, no way I’m buying one again. I’m good. A foreign phone with untimely software support? I don’t care how good the features are. If the phone will only have limited software support, I’m not interested. Trust was broken after 18 to 24 months with an 8 pro that I loved. At which time, the phone turned to a major burden and pain to use. Updates continued, help from carrier with the sim… Frustrated and with fond memories of past usability, tried pushing through with a hobbled phone for months hoping a fix would come. Never did. Got a Pixel. Love it. Zero chance I’d give up my S24 Ultra with 1 year warranty and 2 years mechanical damage including 2 screens per year which I got for half price. Solid UI and the upcoming One UI 7 looks amazing. Tough to beat Samsung in hardware and software these days along with the best security and annual updates. Take some actions manually to bring your Pixel’s temperature under controlExtend your Pixel’s battery lifespanIt’s a borderline bad deal in the USImpressive performance at great valueGood luck getting your hands on it
The update is also live for Samsung’s 2024 foldables
