The Galaxy S24 and S23 are getting a surprise update, but it’s not One UI 7 – 9to5Google

The Galaxy S24 and S23 have been in line for One UI 7 well before the new S25 series hit shelves. A new update is being rolled out to Galaxy S24 and S23 users, but it isn’t as big as One UI 7.One UI 7 is technically supposed to come to the Galaxy S24 series next, with the S23 following shortly behind. It was thought that shortly after the new Galaxy S25 series was officially available, the previous generation would begin seeing an update to One UI 7. Recent developments suggest users might be waiting a little longer than expected.Users have spotted a new update rolling out to the Galaxy S23 and S24. The update is not an upgrade to One UI 7, as exciting as that would be. Instead, it looks like it’s February’s planned security patch aimed at fixing some vulnerabilities that have cropped up. The Galaxy S23 gets an additional bullet point with an update to W-Fi firmware.The patch appears to be rolling out in South Korea for the time being. In the next few days, it will likely be rolled out for more users in other regions.One UI 7 is set to be a pretty large update for the Galaxy S24, even though we’re not sure when it will roll out.
