(Sure, Brad Womack infamously picked neither of his final two women in his first Bachelor stint… but at least he made a decision to pick no one!)So who did Grant ultimately choose between Litia and Juliana? (And how great will his final choice feel when she sees how late in the game he decided?) Monday’s three-hour finale opens with Grant still in the Dominican Republic after handing roses to Litia and Juliana last week and sending Zoe packing. Now you might think this is already a done deal, because we all heard Grant tell Litia “I love you” during their date last week, which is the ultimate affirmation in Bachelor-land. But you’d be wrong! Oh, so wrong.

She and Grant gush about the romantic journey they’ve been on, and they do look awfully cute and cuddly together, as his dad Robert observes. “But he’s still torn,” his mom Renee points out. (Yeah, we know!) Litia wins her over, though, by detailing how she fell in love with Grant’s big heart, and Renee is happy to hear that they’ve exchanged “I love you”s. Robert likes what he hears from her, too, but Grant tells his dad he’s still a little stuck on Litia’s timeline, wanting to have kids in the next two years. Robert then gives him some sage fatherly advice: “If you love the person, don’t let one little issue stop the show.” Litia later admits that she’s never told anyone “I love you” before Grant, so she’s all in. Hmmm, is Grant, though? Next, it’s Juliana’s turn, and his family appreciates her positive vibes. But when Grant’s mom pulls her aside and asks her point-blank, “Do you love my son?” Juliana comes back with: “OK, so…” Ouch, not what Renee wants to hear. Juliana admits they haven’t gotten to that point yet — which leads Renee to ask: “How do you know you’ll ever get there?” (Good question, Mom!) Renee shares her concerns with Grant, advising him to “walk away” if Juliana doesn’t drop the L-bomb. In her chat with Robert, Juliana inquires about Grant’s tough exterior and how he never shows any weakness, and that leads to a heartwarming talk between father and son, where Robert tells Grant how proud he is of him: “I love the man that you’ve become.” Man, it’s dusty in here, isn’t it? All those emotions finally break the dam between Grant and Juliana, and they tell each other “I love you,” sealing it with a kiss.
By our count, that’s now two (2) women that Grant has told “I love you” to — so which one is getting the final rose? First, to kill some time, Jesse calls up former Bachelorette Charity (great!), former Bachelor Clayton (ew) and Golden Bachelor Gerry (why?) to ask them how they made their final decision. Grant, here’s our advice: Don’t take advice from these two men. Back in the Dominican Republic, Grant goes sailing and swimming on his final date with Juliana, and when Grant asks her if she’s ready for an engagement, she tells him at first that “I will do my best to handle your heart with care” (?). She does eventually tell Grant that him saying “I love you” gave her all the reassurance she needs to get engaged — but privately, she’s worried that he’s saying all the same things to Litia. And you know what, he might be!As he goes on his final date with Litia, riding horses through a heavy downpour, Grant tells us Litia is exactly what he pictured when he started this process. But is that still what he wants? At dinner, Grant brings up her timeline again, and she reiterates how much she wants to be a mom, but she’s open to pushing back that timeline if they decide that’s what’s best together. She can sense this decision is stressing him out, and she’s doing basically everything she can at this point to get that final rose. She literally says, “Pick me”! Grant offers her some vague words of reassurance… but he’s still got a big choice to make. The next morning, Grant tells us he thought he knew who he would pick the night before — but now he’s not sure. Both women are “equally amazing,” he says, and he turns to Robert for a last-minute pep talk. Grant is worried things will be different with whoever he chooses when they get back home, and Robert encourages him to follow his heart: “You need to make sure it’s right for you.” As Grant goes through the annual Neil Lane engagement ring shopping scene, he debates, and contemplates, and hems and haws. “It’s literally impossible,” he complains. No, it’s not, Grant. It’s literally very possible. Just pick one!
Even as he gets to the final rose ceremony, Grant still hasn’t made up his mind. Jesse tries to light a fire under him, telling him that both women are on their way, and “I really need to know which one to send first.” So who’s getting the boot? The door opens… and Litia steps out. (And we think we hear some groans and boos from the studio audience.) She gushes about how much he means to her, and he tells her he loves her… “but I’m not your person.” He says his “emotional connection is stronger somewhere else,” and he hopes she doesn’t view him differently after this, but she scoffs at that: “Well, I do, for sure. C’mon now.” She’s crushed: “I think I got my answers… you’re different than I thought.” She says Juliana is a great girl, but “I would have a lot of questions if I were her, from the things you’ve said to me.” Oop!“The switch-up is crazy,” Litia tells him on the way out, and while Grant insists he still has love for her, she’s honest about her feelings: “I’m confused, and I’m sad, and I’m mad.” They share an awkward hug goodbye, and she seems shellshocked on the ride home: “I felt like he loved me, and he picked someone else that he loved more… It definitely hurts.” On the live show, Litia tells Jesse “I got the rug pulled out from under me,” revealing that Grant kept assuring her throughout the process that they were getting engaged. When asked if she truly loved Grant, she says, “I loved the parts of Grant that he chose to show me” (!). He kept telling her she was his number one, even from their first solo date, Litia claims, and so she was totally blindsided when he rejected her in the end.
When Grant comes out to face the music, Litia tells him “I don’t think you’re a bad guy,” but she does take him to task for love-bombing her from the start. Grant owns up to his mistakes and maintains that he did love her, but he does apologize for hurting her. Litia doesn’t look like she’s buying it, though, and she’s ready to move on and find her own love story: “I’m excited for this to be the last time I talk to you about this.” Man! You sure you don’t want a Bachelorette season this year led by this lady, ABC? She’s got zingers! But after all that mess, it’s time for Juliana to arrives at the final rose ceremony, and he gets down on one knee and proposes — and she says yes! Congratulations…? Grant and Juliana look very happy and giggly when they reunite on the live show, but honestly, we’re still a little scarred by the Litia breakup. Juliana shrugs off Grant’s indecision, though, supporting him for taking his sweet time with the process. She even “had fun” keeping fans guessing about Grant’s final choice on social media. OK, then! He’s moving to Boston to be with her, they reveal, and Jesse gives them an engagement gift: a trip to Italy, where they’ll make all the cannoli they could possibly desire. To wrap things up, Jesse brings back Grant’s ex Zoe to announce she’ll be on Bachelor in Paradise this summer, along with… Golden Bachelor/ette alums Leslie and Gary? Yes, Golden Bachelor/ette alums will be mingling with the younguns this season in Paradise, so get your pickleball paddles ready!

ΔI’m glad he did not choose a Mormon, he would not of liked that life style.“…not of…”, tholol. It seems to be a “thing” in tvline comments for some people to say “not of” and “could have” instead of “not have” and “could have”. Bizarre.I was a tad surprised, since I feel like he and Litia were given more of an endgame edit throughout the season, while Juliana kind of snuck up there in the last few weeks. HOWEVER. Baby timeline aside, I wouldn’t be surprised if religion came into play as well. Litia sprung that on him a little late in the game, and while you can say raising a family in faith and that “the important thing is loving God and knowing God loves you,” we’re talking about Mormonism vs. “traditional” Christianity here. I can’t believe Litia would compromise on how she wants her children to be raised, and it’s a little more complicated than Baptist vs. Catholicism, for example.I completely agree and was thinking this as the last bit of this played out. He was kind of blindsided with her religious beliefs so late in the process. Maybe he did some research (finally) and realized that wasn’t the life for him, but couldn’t say that on national television. In almost all the recent seasons of The Bachelor, the leads have really ended up being immature idiots (with the exception of Joey and Zach). Was so happy to see Litia dress down this guy after he dumped her.At least most of the women leads on the franchise have been pretty mature and “normal,” or as normal as you can be on reality TV.And why does The Bachelor franchise continue to trot out this con man Gerry Turner?? He singlehandedly nearly destroyed the entire franchise with his lies and insincere behavior in The Golden Bachelor. Yet, the franchise keeps bringing him on stage and on camera as if he is one of its prized legends. The guy should have been kicked to the curb the minute his real backstory came out.True but they are looking for ratings and fans of this show love to hate him.I don’t watch but based on the photo accompanying this article, he looks as though he might be hyperfocused on manscaping and manicures. Maybe he’s holding out for a cosmetologist to throw herself at him.I kinda think they did Grant dirty with the editing. Was he really that conflicted?? IDK but that’s the feeling I get when watching shows like this. It’s all about the drama and they will do whatever they need to do to keep people watching.I agree. This franchise loves to have their leads be “conflicted” but then flip the switch once they propose. This whole franchise just gives me the icks. I can’t believe how long it’s gone on for.It doesn’t matter what other people think who Grant should have picked. This is his life and only his. Having a timeline for children is what made him choose Juliana. They are just getting engaged and they first have to get to know eachother as a couple before even getting married. This does take time. Apparently, Grant was in no rush to have kids so this factor decided for him who to pick.I think it’s a little unfair to Grant that so many are saying he’s indecisive. He has a very calm personality, and I’m not sure the “drama” was really great this season. So it seems to me that producers have made him look more conflicted to try to make it better tv. Overall, it’s been quite a dull season – although I think that’s because Grant is a good guy and there’s just not much drama to be had.Grant is a nice guy and presents him himself well, but when he says things like he never thought he would be in love with two women at once (while lin a setting for weeks where you are literally forced to date multiple people at one time, he couldn’t see that as a possibility?) and where he declared his love for latia early on and even to her mother, that tells me Grant lacks maturity. Latia is more mature than Grant, she clearly stated early on that she wants to marry have a children, she’s looking for love, security and someone who is serious about becoming a father within the next few years. She didn’t present herself falsely. It seemed Grant thought he could work his way around it with her when at the end he asked her again about her timeline. Not much about Grant was really revealed in terms of past relationships or his career aspirations, I watched every episode and I can’t even remember what the guy said he does for a living. All in all I think it was kind of a so so bachelor season with Grant. Watching all the young girls who get so competitive with each other is tiring. Next time they do this show, maybe pick people who are a bit older and more mature so the show has more substance to it.By providing your information, you agree to our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
