Street Profits help DIY retain tag team titles at Royal Rumble – Cageside Seats
Filed under:A surprising finish in the 2-out-of-3 Falls match.The Motor City Machine Guns finally made it to WWE, skipping a run in NXT to head to the main roster on Friday Night SmackDown. Then, surprisingly enough, they won the tag team titles. They lost them to DIY fairly not long after, however, and have been embroiled in a feud with Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano ever since.It led us to tonight’s (Sat., Feb. 1, 2025) Royal Rumble premium live event at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, where they were booked for a 2-out-of-3 Falls match.The action was fast and furious to start but it was DIY who pulled a fast one to score the first fall. Ciampa deked a tag to Gargano and when Shelley bought it, a hard knee from Tommaso, still the legal man, gave them a 1-0 lead.#DIY = GENIUS!!!#RoyalRumble pic.twitter.com/BOK4e4tuitThe Machine Guns were persistent, however, and used some strong tandem offense to come back and hit Skull & Bones to score a pinfall on Gargano to even the match at 1-1.They had one hell of a back-and-forth from there, one that ended with a surprise. From out of nowhere, The Street Profits showed up, with Angelo Dawkins wielding a crutch and attacked MCMG with it.
