The meeting came after rumors that McMahon had reached out to AEW stars about possibly joining the promotion, and McMahon later issued a statement about their meeting. Speculation about McMahon becoming All Elite were stirred further on September 26th when The Young Bucks shared a photo of themselves with Shane O’Mac at the airport. While some in AEW have called for McMahon to become All Elite, news has been largely quiet since Shane’s photo with Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. However, on the latest edition of Behind the Turnbuckle, Jonathan Coachman made a bold claim that Khan “ghosted” McMahon after their meeting as Shane wanted a massive stake in the company. Coach said:“I have it on good authority that Shane McMahon asked for the world. He wanted equity in AEW, and he wanted to come in and run the entire show.Honestly, it was probably the first time I said to myself, ‘I actually agree with Tony Khan.’ Because Tony definitely ghosted Shane, let’s make it clear that it wasn’t the other way around.” (h/t Gerweck.net)Now, Fightful Select provides more insight on Coach’s comments, reporting that while they can’t confirm the request for equity, McMahon did want to “run things” in AEW despite not having enough knowledge of the product or the brand’s business model. According to the report, Khan did not follow up with McMahon after their meeting, and that McMahon did not take this personally. Khan reportedly seemed to believe it was a joke when McMahon stated his intentions of running everything in his company. The report also notes that McMahon believed his years of experience and insight were valuable after seeing many fans call for anyone but his father Vince McMahon to run a wrestling show.Fightful Select also reports that there were never any extended plans for Shane McMahon to make an appearance in AEW or to work with the company. According to the report, Tony Khan hasn’t spoke much about the situation since then, simply stating that the two met and are not in business together.A source told Fightful Select that they wouldn’t necessarily rule out a cameo from McMahon in All Elite Wrestling, but that it was unlikely the two sides would do significant business together as of now.The Rock has revealed that his WWE WrestleMania 42 announcement wasn’t initially planned to take place on SmackDown.Jesse Ventura has revealed why he turned down WWE’s first offer to return to the company and what changed his mind.Drew McIntyre had a rough time during last night’s WWE SmackDown, even before his match!Representatives of Vince McMahon, WWE and John Laurinatis are opposing a recent amendment to Janel Grant’s lawsuit. The Rock believes his rivalry with Cody Rhodes doesn’t have to follow typical wrestling conventions. This week’s WWE SmackDown featured The Rock making an offer to Cody Rhodes, Braun Strowman teaming with Damian Priest in the main event, and more.
