Last updated: February 19th, 2025 at 11:46 UTC+01:00 Now that the Galaxy S25 has started reaching buyers, Samsung has started to work on the software for its next high-end smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The first firmware for the upcoming foldable smartphone has appeared on Samsung’s servers.
The first software build for the USA variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (SM-F966U) has been spotted (via @tarunvats33) on Samsung’s servers. The build has firmware version F966USQU0AYB3, and it is likely based on Android 15 (One UI 7.x).Usually, Samsung launches its foldable phones with a One UI x.1.1 (x stands for an appropriate number for that year) version. However, as we exclusively reported a few days ago, Samsung is considering skipping One UI 7.1.1 this year due to the delay in the release of the stable One UI 7.0 update for existing phones.
So, it could launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with One UI 7.0.1 instead.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 reportedly features a screen aspect ratio similar to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. So, compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, it could have bigger screens (6.5-inch cover and 8-inch foldable) with almost no visible crease on the foldable screen. Some reports claim that the phone will not have S Pen compatibility. The phone could be as thin as 10mm and could have a 4,400mAh battery with 45W fast charging. It could have a 200MP primary camera, an ultrawide camera, and a telephoto camera.
