Pokémon TCG Pocket To Update Trading Feature In Response To Player Feedback – Nintendo Life

Here’s the message in full:Trading Feature Update: Since releasing the first iteration of the trading feature a few days ago, we have received a large number of comments. Thank you all for sharing your feedback. The item requirements and restrictions implemented for the trading feature were designed to prevent abuse from bots and other prohibited actions using multiple accounts. Our goal was to balance the game while maintaining a fair environment for all players and preserving the fun of collecting cards that is core to the Pokémon TCG Pocket experience. However, thanks to your feedback, we understand that some of the restrictions put in place are preventing players from being able to casually enjoy the feature as intended. We are actively investigating ways to improve the feature to address these concerns. Going forward, we also plan to offer multiple ways to obtain trade tokens including through event distributions. As always, thank you for being part of the Pokémon TCG Pocket community. You can get the full rundown about this latest feature and how it works in the story we published earlier this week:Traders of the Lost CardHow are you finding trading so far? Having an completely open free for all online would end up more of the same. You know they knew how to make this better already and are just trying to pretend like they’re taking feedback and not just seeing what our limits areVanilla EXs and 1 Star Full Arts are rare, but they’re not THAT uncommon. Between only being able to Trade for the same Rarity and the Stamina system, I really fail how to see it’d be abused by not having the Tokens. Especially since the 1 Star Full Arts are just Commons, Uncommons, & Rares but prettier – they’re not stronger than more readily available copies.A core appeal of this game to me is making do with a limited set of cards. Like one long term draft format. Can’t say I’m too fussed about being able to trade for exact cards at all.”As you might have seen earlier this week, the new trading feature went live in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket on mobile devices and a lot of trainers are particularly happy.”Yes. I’m adoring how “happy” everyone is about the result of how trading launched. Honestly if they just made it so the player can exchange 1 and 2 diamond cards for tokens people wouldn’t hate the trade tokens so much (seriously a lot of people have 1 and 2 diamond cards).@Mariotag Lmao. I can’t tell if this was meant to be sarcasm, or it was a mistype overlooked during editing. 🤣Wonder if this is one of those times where they started off with something very bad for users so they could “compromise” down to something only slightly bad. Ideally, I’d like to see all cards be tradeable, the trade cost reduced to equal each card’s token value, and the ability to trade in common cards for a few tokens, though I doubt we’ll get all of that.@anubisvel @Mariotag Fixed! At least we got a laugh out of it. @Liam_Doolan Indeed. Lmao. I thought you might have been being cheeky.@Liam_Doolan @anubisvel Yup. I’m curious which it was too.It never fails to impress me just how much the meaning of a statement changes if legit anything is different.obligatory frothing at the mouth rage commentThis potentially being their plan from the start aside, good as long as they at the very least reduce if not hopefully straight up remove the token requirements since those are the biggest hindrance – the stamina and hourglasses were expected since they’re used also for other functions and are fine in my opinion while having to trade cards of the same rarity makes sense to avoid unfair trades as already mentioned here (would be great if you could trade also cards with a rarity higher than one star, but I can live without that)!@Xeraphis Maybe people should be a little upset at companies manipulating their user base with planned out stunts like, watch the next part of this is them dialing back requirements by a small chunk but that somehow placates the user base because their voices were supposedly heard.Ditch the trade tokens for players that have had premium for longer than the two week trial period. Feels like that would curb the multiple account issue that they’re obviously trying to combat.I think the best way to do this is to add an option next to binders, displays and decks called trades. You have two binders with an unlimited amount of slots. One is cards you are offering the other is ones you need. Anytime can access these and offer you the trade right from the binderIf they think tokenizing trading will do anything to curb bots, they’re gonna be in for a rude awakening. The rarity limitations, I can understand, but tokenizing it? Nah, that definitely ain’t gonna fly.
