Mel Gibson Loses Home in Los Angeles Wildfires – Consequence

The actor was recording an episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast when his house went up in flamesMel Gibson says that his Malibu home was destroyed in the wildfires that have devastated the Los Angeles area this week.Speaking to NewsNation, Gibson explained that he was in Austin, recording an episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, when he learned that his house was under threat. “I was kind of ill at ease while we were talking because I knew my neighborhood was on fire. I thought, ‘Eh, I wonder if my place is still there.’ When I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there.”“I have never seen a place so perfectly burned, you could put it in an urn,” Gibson continued. “[The area] was completely toasted. I’ve never seen such a complete burn.”Despite the tragedy, Gibson tried to find some humor in the situation, joking that he’s now “been relieved from the burden of my stuff because it’s all in cinders.”In addition to Gibson, other actors who lost their homes in the Los Angeles wildfires include John Goodman, Anthony Hopkins, Billy Crystal, Eugene Levy, Ed Harris, Milo Ventimiglia, Miles Teller, and Anna Faris.During his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Gibson criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom for not taking enough measures to prevent the wildfires. “In 2019, I think Newsom said, you know, ‘I’m going to take care of the forest and maintain the forest’ and do all that kind of stuff,” Gibson said. “He didn’t do anything.”“I think all our tax dollars probably went for Gavin’s hair gel,” the actor added. “… It’s sad.
