Meghan Markle is launching a new podcast entitled “Confessions of a Female Founder,” which will hear the duchess talking about her entrepreneurial journey. It will also feature talks with other female founders about the reality of building a business, according to People magazine. The show will premiere April 8th on Lemonada Media and will have eight episodes. “I’ve been having candid conversations with amazing women who have turned dreams into realities, and scaled small ideas into massively successful businesses,” she wrote in her announcement on Instagram. “They’re opening up, sharing their tips, tricks (and tumbles), and letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business.” Though the idea of a female-founder podcast is not novel, it’s not a surprising move from Markle as she continues to build out her post-Royal business empire. She’s in the process of launching her lifestyle brand, As Ever, to accompany her new Netflix show “With Love, Meghan.” Markle previously spoke to People magazine about the challenges she’s faced in As Ever’s early days, including a trademark issue with the brand’s original name, American Riviera Orchard. Markle has cut angel checks into a few consumer companies and was spotted last year at the G9 Summer Summit, a powerhouse Hamptons networking conference hosted by G9 Ventures founder Amy Griffin. Meanwhile, Prince Harry is also dabbling in the world of startups, serving as the chief impact officer of the wellness company BetterUp, and giving an address at this year’s UpFront Summit about the use of technology in driving global change. The duo recently hired former Lightspeed Ventures marketing partner Meredith Maines to lead communications.Topics
