Fresh off the FireAid stage, Lady Gaga is gearing back up to grace the Grammy stage alongside Bruno Mars to perform a tribute to Los Angeles during Sunday night’s event.
Rumors had been percolating for days that Gaga was in negotiations to perform at the Grammy Awards. According to the Recording Academy on Friday, Gaga and Mars will dedicate their performance at the show to the city and those affected by the wildfires.
The performance comes on the back of two Grammy nominations for their collaboration “Die With a Smile,” including song of the year and best pop duo/group performance. The ballad, released in Aug. 2024, was a runaway hit for the duo, becoming a streaming juggernaut and topping the Billboard Hot 100 at the top of the year. Thus far, it’s notched four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the chart in 2025.

“When I was thinking about what to sing tonight, I thought I’d do something hopeful for you, and I was thinking about my songs and nothing seemed quite right,” she told the crowd. “So me and my friend Michael, my fiance, my love, we wrote this song for you. It’s just for tonight, it’s just for you. I think we all need a lot of things right now, but I think something we also may need is time. Time is a healer.”
Meanwhile, Mars is on a hot streak of collaborative singles in the wake of “Die With a Smile.” “Apt.,” his duet with Rosé, surged past the billion streams mark on Spotify and hit No. 3 on the Hot 100.
