Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a Technical Powerhouse on PS5 Pro, Says Digital Foundry – Push Square
GuestGuestLogin | Sign UpPush SquareGuestLogin or Sign Up”PS5 Pro’s extra horsepower, plus PSSR upscaling technology, are well utilised”Developer Warhorse Studios’ eagerly anticipated next entry in its medieval RPG series, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, launches tomorrow, 4th February, on PS5. While all players on the platform can enjoy the adventure at a glorious 60fps, something that was not nearly possible with the first game on PS4, owners of the PS5 Pro, the most powerful console ever made, can especially anticipate some incredible gains. The wizards at Digital Foundry have put the ambitious, historical Skyrim-like WRPG through its paces and found that the long wait between games has been well worth it, at least from a technical perspective. The table below shows how each platform performs relative to the others. Warhorse seems to have delivered a worthy showpiece for your fancy PS5 Pro, fulfilling Mark Cerny’s promise of fidelity mode visuals at performance mode framerates.”Where’s my f***ing sword?!””The whole world turns around wenches; ain’t that right, Henry?”If you were on the fence about Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, does the seal of approval from Digital Foundry tip you over the edge? Accept nothing less than a stable 60fps in the comments section below.[source youtu.be]About Khayl AdamKhayl Adam is Push Square’s roving Australian correspondent, a reporter tasked with scouring the internet for the richest, most succulent PlayStation stories. I never thought that Henry could get any smoother. This feels like a sale game for me. I’m not too fond of the medieval Europe setting. Another one is the age of pirates for me. Weird how some periods just don’t click for you.Preloaded and ready to go on my Pro!But i thought the Pro sucked and is a scam? Yeah i think going forward we’re going to see the benifits of the Pro more and more, i expect Monster Hunter Wilds will also see a big difference on the Pro as well.“Skyrim-like” yikes thats wrong on so many levels.Cant wait myself tho, hope the pssr doesnt go haywire and its as polished as previews said.Waiting to see the reviews and maybe a couple of patches but yes, the fluidity even on base PS5 brings me much closer to purchase.Thats cool. Just need to wait to see if the game is actually good now.I honestly found the last game a total chore that needed a lot of polish, hopefully the studio scaling means this is a much better game@breakneck yeah, I cant stand futuristic rpgs, robots and spaceships nah, i want dragons and castles.@species yeah that also made me raise an eyebrow , well they both have horses and barns i suppose 😂Well, about to find out!@LordAinsley the first game on console was a mess, the actual game was great but at 20fps with blurry graphics,no thankyou , this looks to be much improved ,and this type of fighting needs 60fps to be playable in my opinion.@lazarus11 I cant put my finger on it but it just repelled me pretty quick.I thought the story and character seemed interesting, but as soon as I was walking about and doing the sword fighting tutorial I just knew “I dont want to play this for 40 hours”We loved the original game and put a lot of hours into it. We’ll definitely be getting on this it looks fantastic on PRO30fps… I was used to this during my console days, but I’ve become an insufferable 144fps snob after changing to PC.@LordAinsley the first game desperately needed an upgrade , because of the poor fps the sword fighting was harder than it shouldve been, it was unplayable for me.Glad I got PS5 ProIs it still first person like the first game? That’s what made me skip the debut.@AhmadSumadi Yes it is, but at least 60fps (more like 70+ if you have VRR) with decent image quality should make it better to play.Well this is a pleasant surprise. A massive open world using the gorgeous Cry engine, and running above 60fps with VRR on the Pro? Need more games like this that can do this please!Great achievement from the team. Sounds like all versions of the game run well though so it’s just a generally well optimised game which deserves praise these days.I’m not sure the game is for me, but it’s good to see!@Perturbator 30fps? Its only 30fps on Series S or when played on Quality Mode on PS5/SX. On Pro its 60fps with Quality Mode settings.@AhmadSumadi Yeah still 1st person as it would be impossible to this type of game in 3rd person. So pumped for this!Kool 60fps should be the minimumI absolutely adored the first game, even though I had a lot of trepidation getting into it (it sounded too hardcore, too hard, to janky). What I found was an absolute gem that I sunk many, many hours into and ultimately didn’t even finish because I didn’t want to. I wanted to have endless adventures, killing bandits and hawking their gear.I’m very excited for the second game. I know what they can do and how good it was when it was still a bit wonky. I can’t imagine how much I will enjoy it with a little streamlining and polish.Warhorse studios should be very proud, getting name-checked now with the quality of their games alongside CD Project Red and Larian.@lazarus11 @species having logged over 100 hours now, I completely stand by this comparison @Khayl I can’t wait to get into it I’m so time poor though so may be on this for a while. Playable in 7 hours for me (England) Show CommentsLeave A CommentHold on there, you need to login to post a comment…PS Plus Essential Games for February 2025 Announced3 more PS5, PS4 titles incomingClair Obscur: Expedition 33 Is So Popular the Dev Can’t Meet Collector’s Edition DemandSold outSniper Elite Resistance: Dead Drop – All Collectibles: Personal Letters, Classified Documents, Hidden Items, Stone Eagles, WorkbenchesEvery collectible in Dead Drop revealedPS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 Themes on PS5 Will Leave Tomorrow, But Sony Is Working to Bring Them BackThey’ll return “in the months ahead”Sniper Elite Resistance: Sonderzüge Sabotage – All Collectibles: Personal Letters, Classified Documents, Hidden Items, Stone Eagles, WorkbenchesEvery collectible in Sonderzüge Sabotage revealedGame ProfileTitle:Kingdom Come: Deliverance IISystem:PlayStation 5Publisher:Deep SilverDeveloper:Warhorse StudiosGenre:RPGPlayers:1Release Date:PlayStation 5Series:Kingdom Come: DeliveranceAlso Known As:Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2Reviews:Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (PS5) – Immersive Knight Sim Makes for a Peerless RPGOfficial Site:kingdomcomerpg.comWhere to buy:Buy on Amazon
