The Jurassic franchise is getting another reboot of sorts with Jurassic World Rebirth, which serves as a standalone sequel to 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion. None of the previous stars of the Jurassic World or Jurassic Park IP are returning, and a brand-new cast, led by Scarlett Johansson, will take on another dinosaur adventure that hopes to entice moviegoers. The film is the seventh installment overall of the brand, and while the films have proven to be financially reliable, the number of views the first trailer for Rebirth scored in its initial 24 hours is a bit concerning when compared to other major summer releases that have unveiled first looks.Luiz Fernando on X broke down the trailer views for Jurassic World Rebirth on both the Universal and Jurassic World official main YouTube channels, and it scored 12.5 million views in 24 hours combined. The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which was huge overall with 202 million views in 24 hours, hit 19.3 million views on Marvel’s main YouTube channel in its first day, while Superman scored 22.6 million in 24 hours on the main DC YouTube Channel. An argument can be made that The Fantastic Four and Superman are more highly anticipated, but Rebirth is coming off of Dominion, which, despite not-so-great reviews, still grossed $1.004 billion worldwide by the end of its run.The news wasn’t much better on X for Jurassic World Rebirth, where it scored 5.6 million views on the main Jurassic World account and 234,000 on Universal’s account. This is far below the 15.2 million views for The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer on the Marvel page (11 million views) and The Fantastic Four page (4.2 million views). Superman was even more robust, with 34.6 million views from James Gunn (16 million views), Warner Bros. I’m not sure I’ll see this one at theaters. It’s gotten kind of un realistic and out of hand. I don’t really know these actors. I really feel, when you look at prey. It felt original and was different from the previous predator movies. Thats why it worked. It felt fresh. Maybe the writers will take that cue.Not shocked given how absurdly terrible Dominion was. It scalped the allure of dinosaurs + humans. This one looks fun, though – feels more like a JP/JW movie than the last two.The lack of star power for Rebirth will make it a flop. Nobody I know wants to see it. Chris Pratt was star power. Scarlet Johansson is preety but she doesnt look appealing. The tightly pulled back hair is not attractive. I am gay and even I want sex appeal in women on screen. Bailey is not attractive either. The cast is just not eye candy for 2 hours. Plus the little girl..eh. The actor in the suit is obviously the bad guy so the whole plot seems unoriginal. I noticed that on YouTube, the other trailers you mentioned appeared straight away through the algorithm. I had to search for Jurassic Rebirth to find the trailer. This is likely to have a massive impact on those numbers.
