GTA VI PC Might Launch Early Next Year, According to Corsair – Wccftech

It’s no surprise that GTA VI was voted the most anticipated game of 2025 by the Wccftech community (and by many other communities in similar polls). We’re talking about the sequel to the second best-selling game of all time, after all; as Take-Two Interactive revealed last week, GTA V has sold over 210 million units to date, 15 million of which in 2024.Currently, the launch window confirmed by the publisher and by developer Rockstar Games is Fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. PC fans will have to wait as usual for the Grand Theft Auto franchise, but how long? With GTA V, they had to wait for over a year and a half. That game launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, while the PC version only launched in April 2015. However, GTA IV had a much shorter gap of around seven months (April 29, 2008 – December 2, 2008).Speaking to investors on the company’s Q4 2024 earnings report call, Corsair Gaming CEO Andrew Paul seemed to hint that GTA VI might arrive much sooner than anticipated on PC, pinpointing an ‘early 2026’ release window on the platform.[…] In terms of new games, I mean, there’s been a steady stream of games. What we really haven’t had for the last year or 2 is what we could call a Fortnite moment or PUBG moment. So, people are typically playing older games. And I think for our component business and for people looking at new cards, obviously, that tends to depend on new games that are super demanding that you need high-performance graphics in order to get 60 frames a second. Games like Fortnite tend to drive headset sales and keyboard sales. But if you actually look at the numbers across the last 5 years, peripheral sales are substantially up, like 50% or 60% up compared to pre-COVID. So, more people are gaming, but not all are gaming on new games. The activity around PC builds or gaming PC builds is roughly on par with pre-COVID now. And obviously, we know that there was a little bit of a pull forward from ’22 to ’24 in ’20 and ’21. That’s why we expect this refresh to build up and give us a little bit of growth in that area. But yes, GTA VI is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later in the year for console. My understanding now it’s going to come out in the fall for console and then early ’26 for PC.Now, of course, this is no official confirmation. To be honest, it’s not even a sure thing that GTA VI will launch this Fall on consoles. After all, Rockstar delayed GTA V once and their latest game (Red Dead Redemption 2) twice. At the same time, it’s possible someone in the executive’s position could have heard through the grapevines what Rockstar is currently targeting. Waiting around six months or a bit less for the PC version, which Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed to be very important sales-wise for the game, wouldn’t be too hard on the many fans after being accustomed to much worse. Some posts on wccftech.com may contain affiliate links.
