Google Home app starts rolling out Nest Protect and Matter smart lock support – 9to5Google
Starting in the Public Preview program, Google Home is finally adding support for the Nest Protect, as well as Matter-certified smart locks. Android app support is rolling out starting today. More broadly, the Google Home app is adding support for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The first compatible device in this category is the Nest Protect. This new integration will let you:Meanwhile, Google Home is adding support for Matter-certified smart locks. Similar to the Nest x Yale Lock, you can:Google notes how “not all of these lock features listed will be compatible with all third-party Matter locks.”This Nest Protect and Matter smart lock support is currently part of the Google Home Public Preview.
