‘Ghosts’ Gets 2-Season Renewal, ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Picked Up For 2025-26 – Deadline

CBS has handed a two-season renewal to Ghosts, now in its fourth season, taking the single-camera comedy through the 2026-27 season. Additionally, the network has given a Season 2 renewal to breakout freshman multi-camera comedy Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage for 2025-26.
The early vote of confidence for the two shows is not surprising as they are CBS’ highest rated comedy series. They have been picked up today along with other CBS strong performers on the drama side, Tracker, Fire Country, Elsbeth, NCIS, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney as well as the recently launched Hollywood Squares reboot.
Of the bunch, the Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is second only to Tracker in Live+35 Days multi-platform viewership (12.9 million), with Ghosts close behind at 11 million, up 9% from last season.

The year-over-year growth for Ghosts would explain why the series, from Lionsgate TV, BBC Studios LA & CBS Studios, became the first non-Chuck Lorre comedy in a long time to land a multi-season renewal from CBS.

If Lorre’s latest, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, stays on its current upward trajectory, it too could snag a multi-year pickup in the near future just like its predecessors The Big Bang Theory and prequel Young Sheldon did. All of them come from Warner Bros. TV, where Lorre is based.
With today’s renewals, three of CBS’ four new scripted series that debuted in the fall, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, NCIS: Origins and the previously picked-up Matlock, have already secured their spots on the schedule for next season alongside upcoming new drama series Sheriff Country and Boston Blue.
The fourth, multi-cam sitcom Poppa’s House, which received a full-season pickup, did not make the early renewal list, along with veteran comedy The Neighborhood. Their fate may depend on how CBS brass feel about its three comedy pilots, the single-camera DMV and multi-cam Zarna and The Neighborhood planted spinoff.
“This season, our new and returning series continue to showcase CBS as the leader in launching and programming the biggest hits with mass appeal for broadcast and streaming viewers,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in announcing today’s mass renewals. “These returning shows represent a mix of long-standing hits and a new generation of fan favorites. In collaboration with our extraordinarily talented partners in front of and behind the camera, we look forward to delivering another successful season.”
Ghosts stars Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar as a couple that inherits a rundown mansion in upstate New York that they decide to convert into a bed & breakfast. After a near-death experience, McIver’s character is suddenly able to see the ghosts that inhabit the house. Danielle Pinnock, Rebecca Wisocky, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco and Devan Chandler Long also star.
The series is executive produced by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, who also serve as the showrunners.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage follows Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage. Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Dougie Baldwin and Jesse Prez also star.
