Gemini app gets multi-Extension prompts, Project Astra coming to Pixel and S25 – 9to5Google

As part of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 launch, Google announced the latest Android, Circle to Search, and Gemini app features.A prompt can have multiple commands and Gemini will use different Extensions to accomplish the actions. This is available now on Android, iOS, and the web. For example:On Samsung devices, Gemini can now be launched by long-pressing the side/power button. This brings up the redesigned overlay for immediate voice input. Additionally, there are new Gemini Extensions for Samsung Calendar, Samsung Clock, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder on the S25.Meanwhile, Gemini Live will let you add images, files, and YouTube videos to real-time conversations. Specifically, the overlay will show a “Talk Live about this” suggestion chip for media. This is rolling out starting today on the Pixel 9, Galaxy S25, and S24 for a “more multimodal, personal and contextual” Gemini Live. It’s coming to “more Android devices in the coming weeks.”When you ask “What makes this painting so famous,” Gemini Live is aware of the subject and can reply as such: “It’s a prime example of Van Gogh’s vibrant, Post-Impressionist style.”In the “coming months,” Project Astra’s screen sharing and live video streaming/capture capabilities are coming to the Gemini app on Pixel and the Galaxy S25.Meanwhile, Circle to Search’s AI Overview answers are coming to visual searches for places, trending images, unique objects and more. Circle to Search is also getting one-tap actions when URLs (open), email addresses (send), and phone numbers (call are identified. On the Android front, Google Search will support the S25’s Now Bar to show sport scores and key match updates. Google Maps will show directions and time to leave notifications for appointments that factor traffic conditions.When you pair GN Hearing and Oticon Intent hearing aids to the Android 15-powered Galaxy S25, you’ll get Bluetooth LE features like “hands-free calling, easy-to-use personalized audio adjustments, and a low-latency connection.” TalkBack 15 on the Galaxy S25 is compatible with Braille displays that use HID, thus saving users from additional set-up steps.
