Samsung is again flexing its AI muscles with the launch of its Galaxy S25 Ultra, as the company has managed to surpass Apple’s iPhone in object detection and erasing. The new Object Eraser tool in One UI 7 works like magic, bending the image meticulously to knit a background that looks so realistic that it will put the iPhone to shame. An X user shared images of the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Object Eraser tool in action against the iPhone, and the results were surprising.Apple has been spending a lot of money on AI and its associated tools. One of the primary tools the company announced with iOS 18 is Clean Up, which allows users to remove objects and anything that intrudes into the photo to make it look clean and perfect. On the flip side, Samsung recently upgraded its Galaxy AI, which appears to be superior to Apple Intelligence in terms of practicality, considering how the Now Brief feature works.Apple has been refining its computational photography for a while now, and the latest Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Object eraser feature is putting it to shame. If you are not familiar, the Object Eraser tool in the Galaxy S25 Ultra not only removes unwanted elements from photos but also reconstructs the background so seamlessly that it is nearly impossible to tell that an object was ever in the photo in the first place.Samsung object eraser vs iPhone lol pic.twitter.com/HnkfTMB26I— Mark’s Tech📱 Tech Reviews – Tech News (@Marks_Tech) February 4, 2025Early tests of the Galaxy S25 Ultra reveal that Samsung’s AI tools can handle complex removals with ease, which includes removing people from the background on a crowded street to seamlessly fill details like water ripples or textured surfaces. This is a significant leap forward for computational photography and a giant leap over the Apple Remove Subject feature.I’m dead pic.twitter.com/NCLygSrzgo— Mark’s Tech📱 Tech Reviews – Tech News (@Marks_Tech) February 4, 2025As you can see in the images, the iPhone barely offers a clean look compared to Samsung, as it blends all the colors together. This makes the entire picture distorted and makes us question why Apple added the feature. We can easily say that Samsung’s rendition puts professional-grade retouching in the hands of everyday users, allowing them to just snap, edit, and post their daily lives.Apple is gradually upgrading its AI tools as well, but we will probably not get them until iOS 19 is released to the general public. Until then, we will have to give it to Samsung for its Object Eraser tool in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. If we are drawing comparisons, we might also add that the iPhone has surpassed the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the gaming test.
