Football Manager 25 Hooked Before Kick Off on PS5 – Push Square

This year’s version – which had already been delayed twice and was due in March – was being billed as a massive leap forward for the popular spreadsheet sim, but the studio has decided to call curtains on the endeavour.“Due to a variety of challenges that we’ve been open about to date, and many more unforeseen, we currently haven’t achieved what we set out to do in enough areas of the game, despite the phenomenal efforts of our team,” a statement from the studio said.“Each decision to delay the release was made with the aim of getting the game closer to the desired level but, as we approached critical milestones at the turn of the year, it became unmistakably clear that we would not achieve the standard required, even with the adjusted timeline.”The studio continued that while it’s achieved much of what it set out to do, the final product is “too far away from the standards you deserve”. As a result, it’s cancelling Football Manager 25, refocusing its efforts on Football Manager 26, and aiming to get back on track from there.“We could have pressed on, released Football Manager 25 in its current state, and fixed things down the line – but that’s not the right thing to do,” it continued. “We were also unwilling to go beyond a March release as it would be too late in the football season to expect players to then buy another game later in the year. “While it’s rare for these annual sports titles to miss their annual release schedules, we don’t hate the decision. At least with the extra time, Sports Interactive has a better shot at delivering on its vision for the series. The only thing we’d criticise here is the lack of communication. The studio does say this was the earliest it could put out a statement, but it does feel like fans have been left in the lurch a little bit ever since the first delay.[source footballmanager.com]About Sammy BarkerAs the Editor of Push Square, Sammy has over 15 years of experience analysing the world of PlayStation, from PS3 through PS5 and everything in between. Oh yes, we’re upgrading the engine, but leaving loads of features behind because uhhhhhh lolYearly releases for sports games is ridiculous and people r willing fools@Golem25 they would be a poorly run studio if they released it in october last year. Not releasing it and keep the work going is a very sensible decision which all studios should take inspiration from@Foxhound Keep dreaming 😂 more chance of Spurs winning a trophy than that happeningFootball is a dumb sport, sincerely,A Spurs fan.Good decision. Annual titles are near impossible to churn out nowadays with significant worthwhile improvements unless they do a COD and have different devs cycle in. they have to switch up the schedule and start making it at least bi-annually. Commendable decision. They haven’t abandoned it, they have simply renamed it, delayed to next season and keep working on it in the meantime. They make it sound like they have changed focus, but the fact of the matter it’s too late in the season to release itIt’s an awful situation and the lack of communication is irritating. Ah well, 24 was given free with Epic and I’m over 10 years into my save with 14th tier Woking and Maybury. League One now, just got dumped out the Europa League round of 16 by Roma after the world’s easiest run to the FA Cup as a League Two side.As the saying in football goes, “the game’s gone.”That’s a shameAnyway Show CommentsLeave A CommentHold on there, you need to login to post a comment…PSN Down Worldwide as PS5, PS4 Players Can’t Log In or Play OnlineSony yet to make a statementMonster Hunter Wilds Beta 2: All Start Times, Preload, What’s New, and RewardsEvery detail covering Monster Hunter Wilds Beta 2 revealedSniper Elite Resistance Guide: 100% Collectibles WalkthroughThe ultimate Sniper Elite Resistance collectibles resourceSniper Elite Resistance: Dead Drop – All Collectibles: Personal Letters, Classified Documents, Hidden Items, Stone Eagles, WorkbenchesEvery collectible in Dead Drop revealedSniper Elite Resistance: Sonderzüge Sabotage – All Collectibles: Personal Letters, Classified Documents, Hidden Items, Stone Eagles, WorkbenchesEvery collectible in Sonderzüge Sabotage revealed 609News PSN Down Worldwide as PS5, PS4 Players Can’t Log In or Play Online 36News PlayStation Fans Could’ve Had Another Resistance Game, But Sony Said No 85Talking Point What Are You Playing This Weekend? – Issue 567 9News Bloodborne, Uncharted, More Confirmed for PlayStation Concert’s Set List 28News Original Dragon Age Writer Responds to EA’s Live Service Obsession with Common SenseNews PSN Down Worldwide as PS5, PS4 Players Can’t Log In or Play OnlineGuide Monster Hunter Wilds Beta 2: All Start Times, Preload, What’s New, and R…Guide Sniper Elite Resistance Guide: 100% Collectibles WalkthroughGuide Sniper Elite Resistance: Dead Drop – All Collectibles: Personal Letters,…News Report Investigates Why PS5’s Store Is Still Drowning in ‘Eslop’Guide Sniper Elite Resistance: Sonderzüge Sabotage – All Collectibles: Person…Guide Upcoming PS5 Games for February and March 2025Review Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (PS5) – Immersive Knight Sim Makes for a Pee…Guide Sniper Elite Resistance: Devil’s Cauldron – All Collectibles: Personal L…Guide Sniper Elite Resistance: Assault on Fort Rouge – All Collectibles: Perso…Popular Right NowShow More Join 441,043 people following Push Square:© 2025 Hookshot Media, partner of IGN Entertainment | Hosted by 44 Bytes | AdChoices | Do Not Sell My Personal Information
