En Vogue Alum Dawn Robinson Offered Job by Ex-Husband After Sharing She’s Living in Her Car – E! Online – E! NEWS

Dawn Robinson’s ex-husband Andre Allen offered her a job working in hospitality—where he found success after leaving the music industry—upon finding out she’s been living in her car for three years.Dawn Robinson’s ex-husband Andre Allen is offering to lend a hand. After the En Vogue alum—who founded the iconic girl group alongside Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron and Maxine Jones—revealed she’s been living in her car for the past three years, her ex offered her a job with Hilton to help get her back on her feet.Andre—who was married to the “My Lovin’” singer from 2003 to 2010—told TMZ March 13 that she would be the “perfect inclusion into the Hilton Brands,” adding that his transition to the hospitality industry has been nothing but good for him. In fact, he went as far as saying that his new sales position “saved his life” and his finances, bringing him more money than the music industry ever did.Just as Andre made the drastic switch from winning Grammys to killing it as a frontline sales executive, he encouraged Dawn to use her “charisma and personality” to do the same, noting that “entertainment isn’t going to pay her what she’s worth.”And while he said he has brought this offer up to Dawn in the past, he expressed his hope that she will “humble herself” enough to accept the opportunity this time around.Indeed, Andre’s offer came just a few days after the 58-year-old shared an update on her living arrangements on her YouTube channel, despite noting that several people warned her not to speak out about it due to her “celebrity” status.”When I first started this channel, I knew that I was going to talk about this,” Dawn began in a March 11 video. “It’s real and it’s OK. Part of being human is to be vulnerable. I’m human first.”“For the past almost three years,” she continued with a nervous squeal, “I have been living in my car.”As for how she got to this point? Dawn—who exited En Vogue in 1997, but returned to the group in 2002 before leaving again in 2008—went on to explain that, in 2020, she decided to move out of her parents’ Las Vegas home after experiencing some tension with her mom.She then spent a little bit of time staying at her manager’s apartment before finding their arrangement to be too crowded with the two of them and their respective dogs. So, she pivoted and found a hotel while looking for a permanent place to call home. But, before she knew it, “That one night turned into eight months.”And that is when the allure of “van life, car life, RV life” caught her attention. By March 2022, Dawn was spending her first nights in her car. And though she found it to be “scary” at first, she was able to quickly adapt to her new lifestyle.“Sometimes in life, we end up in situations that we weren’t expecting,” Dawn wrote in the caption of her video. “There’s something we need to learn or teach but we’re too afraid to push ourselves out of our comfort zones to do it so the universe does it for us! ““I took a risk and jumped head first into car life,” she added, “and WOW, what a crazy, fun, sometimes scary ride it’s been lol!”To catch up with more members from iconic girl groups and boy bands, keep reading.Backstreet’s back, alright!
