Elden Ring Nightreign ‘Considering’ Big Change Based on Fan Feedback – GameRant

Elden Ring Nightreign director Junya Ishizaki has confirmed that the team at FromSoftware is “considering” allowing for 2-player co-op instead of forcing people to play solo or in groups of three. When Elden Ring Nightreign was first announced, it was met with significant fanfare. After all, the original Elden Ring is one of the highest-rated video games of all time, and so it stands to reason that Nightreign will deliver an experience of comparable quality. Some of the hype for Elden Ring Nightreign waned somewhat after more details were revealed about the game following its initial reveal. Nightreign shifting to a 3-day, almost roguelike structure with established classes as opposed to the massive open world and character customization found in the original game was met with some skepticism, as has certain restrictions that are being placed on the co-op experience. For the uninitiated, Elden Ring Nightreign co-op is restricted to 3-players, meaning it’s not possible to play the game with just two people.Elden Ring Nightreign will receive all-new DLC bosses and additional playable characters, according to a discovery during the network test.As one might imagine, Elden Ring Nightreign’s strange co-op restrictions were not met positively by the community. Many fans expressed confusion as to why the game was forcing them to either play solo or in groups of three. Speaking to Ungeek, Ishizaki addressed fan concerns about the restriction and revealed that allowing duos is now something that the studio is “considering.” This doesn’t mean that a duos mode is guaranteed for Elden Ring Nightreign, but at least fan feedback is being considered. The vast majority of Elden Ring fans will have to wait until May 30 to play Nightreign, but some lucky ones are able to play it this weekend. FromSoftware is currently hosting invite-only Elden Ring Nightreign Network Tests, and while connection issues have caused headaches, the response seems to be mostly positive. It’s possible more fan feedback from the tests will be taken into consideration in the months leading up to Nightreign’s full launch, though that remains to be seen.Even though Elden Ring Nightreign doesn’t have a dedicated duos option at the moment, you can still party up with one friend and then have the third slot filled by a random.Elden Ring Nightreign is certainly a gamble for FromSoftware, and it will be interesting to see if it pays off. Various controversial decisions have been made about the game – like the lack of fan favorite character Torrent and having no 2-player co-op mode – but it seems to be providing an experience that is simultaneously unique and familiar for FromSoftware fans. Time will tell if fans connect with the final product, but we’ll find out come May 30.Success!We want to hear from you! Share your opinions in the thread below and remember to keep it respectful.Your comment has not been savedI’m not a great online fan I usually only play the campaign so I would welcome a single player option but what I have played of the beta I thought it was excellent I prefer 2 players. How do you find players to co-op with, if you don’t know anyone who plays ?You hookup with strangers.. so gambling Ah yes… Elden Fort-Night Reign…Who asked for battle royal? Very misleading using Elden Rings name…It’s not a battle Royale where did you even get that from. Why are you making things upIf they made it that way they made it that way for a reason. Oh no a random best have a tantrumi just got my refund back , its not Elden Ring , no adventuring , no finding secret place or gear or summans , you should not have been able to use the name , very bad business move.DissapointingI hope more people follow suit. Playing with randoms was so bad in the beta that it made me not pre-order. If there’s no 2 player I’ll just go back to the core ER experience. I was one of the lucky people who got to test the game this weekend. I liked it more as I got the hang of it but never survived to the last test boss. Part of the problem was people constantly dropped out leaving only two or one of us. It was frustrating to say the least. I never liked playing with people who don’t finish the match. Normally I play Eldon Ring with one friend and would much prefer to play with one friend I can count on to finish the match. So a BIG YES to a duo option.I don’t mind preset classes, but I want to create my own character and not have their level resets at all pere match, rather woul prefer the matches increased in difficulty for every 10 or so levels That would be a completely different type of game.As a die hard fan of From Software, I reluctantly have to renounce my Fandom. This game is so far beneath Miyazaki that it feels like a slap in the face from some corporate overlords. It was one thing for Elden Ring to reuse assets from DS3, but this is on another level of disgusting and insulting. Im legitimately happy for those of you who are excited, but I hope this cash grab fails.
