Days Gone Isn’t Eligible For A $10 Upgrade If Claimed Through PS Plus – TheGamer

Much to the dismay of Bloodborne fans, Days Gone was confirmed to be the next PlayStation exclusive to be getting the remaster treatment during last week’s State Of Play. The PS5 versions of the still relatively new game will launch on April 25, 2025, and if you already own a copy on PS4, you can upgrade to the remaster for $10. Unless the only reason you already own Days Gone is thanks to PlayStation Plus. There always tends to be confusion surrounding this system whenever a new game is about to enter the fray. Days Gone was a part of the retired PS Plus collection and was also a monthly freebie in April 2021. If you were rubbing your hands together, ready to pay $10 for a better-looking version of the game with additional features two months from now, PlayStation has some bad news.Time to ride again, Boozeman. Reddit user u/kabirsingh84 passed on the bad news via the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit. They’ve shared an ad flaunting the $10 upgrade path, noting a hefty chunk of small print beneath it. Buried in that small print is the unfortunate reveal that PS Plus copies of Days Gone will not be eligible for the remaster upgrade. If you want to play the PS5 version of Days Gone on April 25 or beyond, you will need to pay $49.99 for a new copy.If you previously bought the PS4 version of Days Gone, whether it be physically or digitally, then you will be able to upgrade to the new version for $10. If that’s got you rushing to the PlayStation Store to buy it now and then potentially save some money when you can upgrade, PlayStation is already one step ahead of you. Days Gone is currently $39.99, so with the $10 on top, you’re not going to save any money by buying the original game now and upgrading on April 25.Quite a few people have pointed out in the replies that they own Days Gone because of PS Plus and if the $10 upgrade were available to them, they’d have probably bought it because, yeah, why not? However, $50 for the chance to play a slightly better-looking version of the game isn’t something they’d consider.Even though PlayStation omitting PS Plus copies from its upgrade paths is hardly new, its approach to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered might have led some to assume it had changed its ways. Horizon: Zero Dawn was given to PlayStation owners through the platform’s Play At Home initiative during the pandemic, and those copies were eligible for last year’s $10 upgrade. However, it seems games given away via Plus will still be ineligible for PS5 upgrades. We want to hear from you!
