Watch the full press conference here.On Wednesday evening, a passenger-filled American Airlines plane was approaching a Ronald Reagan National Airport’s runway when it collided with a Black Hawk military helicopter, sending at least 60 people into the Potomac River with no survivors to be found. A camera at The Kennedy Center building captured what appeared to be an explosion of a plane descending onto the runway.Since Wednesday’s crash, search and rescue operations have been ongoing, officials said during the press conference. Crews and rescuers from multiple agencies have been working to lift the fallen plane and its wreckage from the river, searching for more victims. During their operations, officials said that more victims were found and were taken to the medical examiner’s office. At least 55 victims have been identified from the plane crash, officials said.While the search operations were ongoing, a Metropolitan Police Department diver suffered from hypothermia and was transported to a local hospital to be examined, officials said.On Monday morning, crews will continue their work in lifting the plane and more wreckage from the river, officials said. The teams will continue to search the shorelines down the river as they expect some debris to be dragged in the current. Officials ask those who find or see wreckage to report it to police.
