Cody Rhodes suffers ‘multiple injuries’ in Royal Rumble ladder match, says WWE – Cageside Seats
Filed under:WWE’s quarterback got sacked several times during his encounter with Kevin Owens at the Rumble.Cody Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens in a ladder match at the Royal Rumble to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, his victory may come with a heavy price. During the Royal Rumble post-show, WWE’s Jackie Redmond provided a grim update on Rhodes’ condition.“I have it on good authority that ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes is dealing with multiple injuries,” said Redmond. She was unable to confirm the severity of those injuries but stated that they were significant enough to prevent him from speaking with the media.“In fact, his in-ring status may be uncertain,” Redmond added. She confirmed that Rhodes will attend SmackDown this Friday night in Memphis, TN. “Considering it is officially WrestleMania season, this could be devastating news if Cody Rhodes is unable to compete for any length of time,” Redmond said. Joe Tessitore noted that Rhodes was under medical observation.
