January 23, 2025 Billy Ray Cyrus slammed critics for making negative comments on his presidential inauguration gig.The 63-year-old singer took to his official Instagram account on January 22 and clapped back on the online backlash for the mishap at Donald Trump’s inauguration Liberty Ball on Monday, Jan. 20.”This was the most fun part of the Liberty Ball! And if you didn’t see it… you just had to be there,” he captioned the clip of him performing his 1992 hit Achy Breaky Heart.”I just don’t think you understand,” Cyrus added.The Hannah Montana actor turned off the comments of the post.The post came a day after Cyrus shared in a statement with People about the behind-the-scenes issue while crooning on the stage.”I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar, and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me.”Despite having not working equipment Cyrus continued his performance, “I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I’ve learned through all these years when the producer says, ‘You’re on,’ you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell.
