Apple is expected to follow Samsung’s approach to Apple Intelligence on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
Apple already uses in-house and OpenAI’s AI models to power AI features on iPhones, iPads, and Macs. In the future, the company could offer Google’s Gemini as an option to process AI on its devices. Developer Aaron has found (via 9To5Mac) that code for iOS 18.4 Beta includes both Google and OpenAI as third-party AI model options for Apple Intelligence and Siri. This is not a surprise, as Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering mentioned in the past that they would like to offer integration with other AI models, including Google’s Gemini.Recently, the comparison of the quality of Apple’s and Samsung’s AI features was a topic of contention on social media, and most agreed that Samsung’s AI features are superior. You can watch some of those features in our video below.

With the introduction of Google’s Gemini, Apple Intelligence could greatly improve compared to how effective it is now. It isn’t clear when Gemini will be made available for iPad, iPhone, and Mac users, though. Maybe it will come with a future version of iOS 18.Apple is also expected to bring its own conversational AI model for Siri with iOS 19, which will likely be launched later this year.
