AMD might price the Radeon RX 9000 GPUs so aggressively that it may also affect the sales of their existing mid-range GPUs.We all know the pressure NVIDIA’s rivals feel after the team Green launches its next-gen GPUs. Even though there is no other company at the moment that is challenging NVIDIA’s flagship Blackwell GeForce products, AMD has decided that they will attack its mid-range and upper mid-range offerings.AMD hasn’t revealed much about the possible pricing of its RDNA 4 GPUs. The company has stayed mostly silent on providing enough details on the Radeon RX 9000 since its reveal at CES. However, as we approach the launch date (March) of the flagship RDNA 4 GPUs i.e., the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, some reports are suggesting that AMD has finally decided on the prices of these cards. It’s not yet official, so take this report with a grain of salt. As reported by IT Home, a leaker has indicated that AMD is going “Aggressive” in pricing the Radeon RX 9070 GPUs to challenge NVIDIA. So much so that it might affect the sales of its own Radeon RX 7800 XT sales. As per the report, AMD was supposed to halt the production and supply of the RX 7800 XT till the third quarter of 2025, but it has already issued a notice to stop production in January. This is to ensure that the RX 9070 GPUs can remain in focus. That said, this report suggests that the RX 9070 series can be priced somewhere around $500-$600, as the RX 7800 XT launched for $500. Since AMD has confirmed that their 70-class GPUs will go against the 70-class GPUs from NVIDIA, it’s safe to say that one of the RX 9070 GPUs might be priced between $500 and $600.Currently, the fastest RDNA 4 has to offer is the Radeon RX 9070 XT as part of the full Radeon RX 9000 lineup, featuring the Navi 48 die and AMD is possibly going to price it at around $600, while the RX 9070 may launch for $500. This is just our speculation, but this seems rational as NVIDIA also launched its RTX 5070 GPU for $549. If the recent performance leaks are correct, the RX 9070 XT is going to compete with the RTX 5070 Ti, making it a much more appealing choice than the latter for $150 less.On the other hand, the RX 9070 should be at least a bit faster than the RTX 5070 for $500 to make it more appealing. It’s expected that the RX 9070 GPUs will also bring superior Ray Tracing performance compared to their predecessors and this should be quite enough for AMD to gain some good GPU market share in the mid-range segment.News Source: IT HomeSome posts on wccftech.com may contain affiliate links.
