AMD Radeon RX 9070 Series Performance Leaked: RX 9070 XT Is 42% Faster Than RX 7900 GRE At 4K – Wccftech

First-party numbers have been leaked, suggesting that the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT & RX 9070 are both significantly faster than the RX 7900 GRE.AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 series will be officially unveiled on 28 February, but before the company can show off the prowess of its new RDNA 4 lineup, someone has already leaked AMD’s benchmark slides. It appears that the previous rumors and recent leaks regarding the GPUs’ performance are likely true. The flagship RDNA 4 GPU, i.e., the Radeon RX 9070 XT, looks impressive on paper, even though the performance numbers are from AMD itself. Still, take these results with a grain of salt, but considering how big of an uplift the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are bringing compared to mid-range GPUs like the RX 7900 GRE, AMD can take a good shot against NVIDIA, which is currently delivering nothing but disappointment. As per the slides seen by Videocardz, the RX 9070 XT is roughly 38% faster than the RX 7900 GRE at 1440p and 42% at 4K resolution. The data shows FPS performance differences with and without Ray Tracing enabled in games and doesn’t include Frame Generation and stuff. This means the RX 9070 XT is a solid upgrade on native resolution over the RX 7900 GRE.If you compare the RX 9070 XT’s leaked performance to previous-gen NVIDIA cards, the RX 9070 comes out to be on par with the GeForce RTX 4080 and 4080 Super. This was known from previous leaks, but this is one of the earlier confirmations that is more reliable. It’s surprising to see that the RX 9070 XT delivers much better performance with RT compared to the RX 7900 GRE. While rasterization uplifts are also impressive, the RDNA 4 GPUs do look competitive to NVIDIA GPUs in Ray Tracing as well. The RX 9070, on the other hand, is also pretty impressive and delivers 20-21% performance uplift over the RX 7900 GRE at 1440p and 4K. Do keep in mind that the results can vary from game to game. As per the leaked slides, AMD tested the RX 9070 XT against the RX 7900 GRE across 30+ games and found it to be 42% faster at 4K resolution. The RX 9070 XT brings the same memory capacity as the RX 7900 GRE, but the architectural uplifts are massive. However, its pricing is extremely important here. While its direct competitor, the RTX 5070 Ti, is officially priced at $749, AMD must price it significantly lower to outperform NVIDIA in the GPU market. Unfortunately (fortunately for AMD), the RTX 5070 Ti is hardly available, mostly costing over a thousand dollars. Once availability goes back to normal, AMD may find it a bit difficult to beat NVIDIA just in case it prices the RX 9070 XT at around $700.Let’s wait and see how much performance difference we will see in independent reviews, which will eventually decide the fate of the RX 9070 series. The RX 9070 series will be officially hitting the retail shelves on 6th March. So, we still have just over two weeks.News Source: VideocardzSome posts on wccftech.com may contain affiliate links.
