The band was only four songs into their set.After the sound went out inside NRG Stadium, the crowd continued singing the song until it was clear that the singalong wasn’t part of the show. Soon after, stage hands rushed to the stage with fire extinguishers.RELATED: Journey’s RodeoHouston concert suddenly canceled due to electrical fireAfter a several-minute delay — during which the band could be seen leaving the stage — the announcement that the show had been canceled was made over the loudspeaker at NRG Stadium.A day after the cancellation, Journey’s Neal Schon posted on social media about what happened.A post shared by Neal Schon (@nealschon)”The only unfortunate thing was that after getting off to a slamming start, the Rodeo had an electrical failure and a fire broke out under the stage,” Schon said in the post on Instagram.Schon, 71, went on to say that he felt terrible about what happened and even offered to play on Saturday night to make it up to the fans but the rodeo wasn’t able to make it happen.”I felt terrible for our fans and offered to play tonight (Saturday) and make it up to y’all but they were not able to make it happen,” the post read.The Rodeo said they did try to work something out to have Journey play again, but because of contractual obligations to Warren Zeiders, were unable to. RodeoHouston posted on Saturday that the Warren Zeiders concert would go on as planned.Schon is the lead guitarist and last original member of the band. He previously played in the band Santana.
