Two Xbox Games Are Shutting Down Their Servers In March & April 2025 – Pure Xbox

The first of those is EA’s NCAA 14 on Xbox 360, which closes down today, March 13th; more than a decade after its launch. Following that, online free-to-play shooter Spectre Divide will shut down “within the next 30 days” – having only launched on Xbox last month. While it’s understandable to take a 12-year old Xbox 360 EA Sports title offline, it’s a real shame to see something like Spectre Divide sink so soon. The developer says that it “hasn’t seen enough active players and incoming revenue to cover the day-to-day costs of Spectre and the studio” – just a few weeks after launching on Xbox.”We made major changes and improvements to virtually every area of the game and brought the game to consoles. Even though it wasn’t enough to achieve financial success, this team fought tooth and nail and went down swinging.”There are more server closures coming up later in 2025 as well, with the most notable being the likes of Ubisoft’s XDefiant (June 3), Capcom’s Resident Evil: ReVerse (June 29) and 2K’s WWE 2K24 (September 30), while developer Sumo Digital has just announced that its free-to-play kart game Stampede: Racing Royale will close down “in approximately three months’ time” this summer.”The journey became too much”Campaign is all we needWill you miss any of these Xbox titles in the coming months? Talk to us about them down below.About Ben KerryBen is a News Writer at Pure Xbox, and is a fan of action, racing and straight-up shootin’ in any Xbox game he can get his hands on. When he’s not clutching an Xbox controller like his life depends on it, Ben spends his time listening to music that’s far too old for him, watching football on the telly and probably eating somewhere.Comments 5That’s shame about Spectre Divide but I’ve never heard of it before and only seen it now thanks to this article. That’s the problem, There’s too many free to play FPS games now and they get lost among the rest. Also reminds me of Concord. As soon as I saw spectre divide and saw screenshots of it I knew it would not last long but I am surprised the studio behind it is shutting down. A damn shame. The only thing I want from Resident Evil in a multiplayer sense, is a remake of Outbreak 1/2.@Kaloudz It’s amazing that they made awesome games like Outbreak, awesome modes like Mercenaries and Raid Mode, and now seem completely lost on how to implement engaging multiplayer into an RE game 😔@Broosh Could not agree more. If they want a really good Resident Evil MP game, they need to either remaster the classic Outbreak games, or make a game like Dead by Daylight (asymmetrical horror) that actually hits well. They could totally pull it off with great maps taken from all their games setting too, but instead they seem hellbent on the waste MP games they drop – and this is coming from a massive Capcom fan.
