Sony Interactive Entertainment and People Can Fly enter agreement for new game prototype based on Sony IP – Gematsu

People Can Fly has entered into an agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment regarding the production of a prototype of a new game, codenamed “Project Delta,” based on an intellectual property belonging to Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company announced. The developer will cooperate on production on a work-for-hire model, meaning that People Can Fly will work as a developer on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the publisher, and in return receive an agreed remuneration from Sony Interactive Entertainment.Work on the game prototype will be divided into stages. According to People Can Fly, the scope and provisions of the agreement do not differ substantially from the provisions of production agreements normally entered into for this type of project.Further details were not announced, but the language in the announcement is similar to People Can Fly’s 2023 announcement regarding an agreement with Microsoft regarding the production of “Project Maverick,” which was recently confirmed to be referencing its position as a co-development partner on Gears of War: E-Day. Taking that into account, it is currently unclear whether People Can Fly is the main developer of this Sony Interactive Entertainment project, or a co-development partner.March 14 @ 10:00 pm – March 15 @ 5:00 am EDT March 17 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT March 18 @ 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm EDT March 19 @ 10:00 pm – 11:30 pm EDT © Copyright Gematsu 2008 to 2024.
