One ‘Destiny 2’ Gun Is Performing 500% Better Than Anything Else – Forbes

Redrix’s EstocDestiny 2 is always known for having outliers in terms of its weaponry, but something is going on in PvP right now that we haven’t seen in some time. I’m not sure about the 10 year history, but it’s certainly top 3, I’d think. The most used weapon in Trials this weekend is Redrix’s Estoc, the Stasis pulse rifle based on the beloved BxR-55 Battler frame (based on Halo’s Battle Rifle). That utilizes a rare scope and excellent hipfire capabilities, and in this case, great stats. On top of that, however, while the BxR is definitely solid in Crucible, Redrix’s Estoc arrives with far more specific and new PvP-based perks. The numbers are wild. Redrix’s Estoc put up kill figures that were 500% larger than the #2 spot, Outbreak Perfected. These numbers are bigger now, but the last list I saw was:Redrix’s Estoc is a reward for the Competitive Crucible mode this Episode, and even if you just finish your initial matches, you’ll still land one. If not, there is still the “we have Redrix’s Estoc at home” BxR to play with. But as you can see, it’s getting 10% of the kills as the upgrade.Update: Some nerfs have already been announced for the gun by Bungie, which will be implemented at a later date:For now, it seems like Redrix’s Estoc is going to be the dominant force in Crucible for a while, and funnily enough, somewhat reminiscent of actual Halo with everyone going around killing each other with Battle Rifles, hitting some nostalgic notes there. But in Destiny, everyone with the same loadout can get pretty old fast. At least if you’re frustrated with the gun, you had a bug that was giving out more loot than intended in Trials this week.Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram.Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.
