Last updated: March 3rd, 2025 at 09:04 UTC+01:00 So far, Samsung has released the beta version of Android 15-based One UI 7.0 to only the Galaxy S24 series. However, rumors have been suggesting that the South Korean tech giant might open the One UI 7 Beta program to more devices, including the Galaxy A55 as well. Well, now a new leak strengthens those rumors.
On X, tipster Tarun Vats reports that he has spotted the beta version of Android 15-based One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy A55 on Samsung’s server. As you can see in the image below, it has build number A556EXXU6ZYB6. Since this firmware is for the international version of the phone, it may be available in many countries.
Samsung has also created a page on its forum for the One UI Beta Program for the Galaxy A55. You can see it in the image below shared by the tipster. Although it doesn’t explicitly mention One UI 7.0, the phone launched with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 and the only beta software for it currently could be One UI 7.0.
Usually, Samsung releases a new version of Android to eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets by the end of a year. This time, however, the brand is almost two months late as of now. Samsung suggests that it has delayed the rollout because it is offering major improvements with the new software, and that has taken up more time.
What’s even worse is that due to this delay, Samsung may skip releasing One UI 7.1 and One UI 7.1.1 and to offer Android 16-based One UI 8.0 on time. If that turns out to be true, it will invite more criticism for the brand. Follow our channel on Telegram/WhatsApp to get the latest Samsung news delivered to you.
