Over 90 reports of severe thunderstorm winds or damage were received by National Weather Service offices as of late Tuesday morning. Winds gusted to to 78 mph at Dallas Love Field, 87 mph near Fittstown, Oklahoma, and 60 mph in Shreveport, Louisiana. Structural damage, possibly from tornadoes, has been reported in Ada and Durant, Oklahoma. In parts of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, a large paint plant was damaged in the suburb of Lewisville and damage to multiple buildings was reported in Irving. More than 400,000 homes and businesses have lost power in portions of the Southern Plains as of 9:55 a.m. CST, according to poweroutage.us.(​MORE: Live Updates | Tracking Maps)T​uesday-Tuesday Night-NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has highlighted a part of the South from eastern Texas to the lower Mississippi Valley, Alabama and western Georgia for a threat of severe thunderstorms Tuesday and Tuesday night, shown in the map below. This includes Jackson, Mississippi, and New Orleans, Louisiana.-Much of the severe weather threat will be from a squall line marching across the region, but some supercells could develop ahead of this line, as well.-​Damaging winds and tornadoes are the biggest threats, especially in areas shaded red below.
