We’re well into 2025, and in March, it feels like the gaming year has just kicked into a higher gear. February had some great releases, but this month sees several high-profile games arriving, like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Two Point Museum, and Split Fiction. We’ve also got several remasters to look forward to, as JRPG fans can grab the first two Suikoden games and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.In terms of new releases, there are several interesting games arriving as well. Rebellion is putting a British spin on Fallout with Atomfall, The First Berserker: Khazan looks like an intense action game, and Fragpunk looks like an interesting mix of FPS fun in fast-paced matches. That’s a question that you’ll be able to easily answer–and without needing an a capella band–as this new game puts you in her shoes and on a quest to stop the criminal organization VILE. This is the first time that the legendary thief will be playable, and it’ll be up to you to use her skills to solve various capers across the globe.Anyone who played Fights in Tight Spaces can attest to that game being one of the best 007 simulators around, and developer Ground Shatter is extending that formula to ye olden times. Knights in Tight Spaces is another combo of deckbuilding strategy and stylish tactics, but with a few new flourishes that’ll put your strategic thinking to the test.After two games focused on the health sector and higher education, Two Point Studios is looking to the past for its next simulator. Two Point Museum will let you run your very own institution dedicated to ancient art and prehistoric monsters, but it won’t be smooth sailing. Between balancing the books, drawing in visitors, and dealing with a few calamities, you’ll have your hands full while running the ultimate museum.The original Everhood was a pretty weird game when it first launched, and its sequel looks like it’s going to turn up the bizarre factor to 11. Undertale and Deltarune fans will likely find themselves drawn to Everhood 2 as it puts a unconventional spin on the ARPG genre with its rhythm-based action and a campaign that revolves around completing several Herculean labors.It’s risky to launch a new hero shooter–just look at Concord for a sad example–but FragPunk could break through that glass ceiling to find success, thanks to a few key factors. It’s a good-looking game with an interesting cast of characters, but the real draw here are the Shard Cards that can be used to shake up its 5v5 gameplay at the drop of a hat.Developer Bad Guitar Studio says that there’ll be over 100 Shard Cards to make use of when FragPunk launches, and these can be used to get a second wind, empower bullets with chain lightning, give everyone massive heads, and much more. Throw in a focus on fast-paced matches and short TTK windows, and FragPunk could emerge as a digestible piece of entertainment for rapid-fire gaming sessions.No one makes a co-op game quite like It Takes Two developer Hazelight does, and if you’re in the mood to travel across fantasy and sci-fi worlds, then you’ll want to check out Split Fiction this month. Like its previous games, this is a mandatoryco-op adventure, but one that looks like plenty of fun. Thanks to the cross-play Friend Pass system, you only need one copy of the game as you can invite a friend to join you, even if they haven’t purchased Split Fiction.The Suikoden series has been a cult-hit for decades, and in 2025, the first two games in the franchise are landing on new platforms. These story-driven JRPGs have long been praised for their deep storytelling and politically charged narratives, and the remasters will arrive with a host of upgraded features. While it’s not on the same level as Square Enix’s HD-2D games, you can still expect updated visuals, enhanced audio effects, redrawn character portraits by Suikoden artist Junko Kawano, and gameplay improvements.Not one but twoopen-world samurai games are out this month, with Rise of the Ronin arriving a few days ahead of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Formerly a PS5 exclusive, Rise of the Ronin mixes a deep souls-like gameplay system with a weird storyline set during a tumultuous period of Japanese history, making for a fun trek through hostile territory.Up for a slaycation in the Austrian alps? Dungeons of Hinterberg was an underrated adventure game when it launched on PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles last year, and it’s now headed to PS5 in March. In case you missed it, it’s a Zelda-like game of action and dungeon exploration as seen through a Tintin-inspired art direction lens. Venturing out into the wilds during the day is where the bulk of the game’s action can be found, but at night, you’ll meet with locals and fellow adventurers to form new relationships that’ll have lasting ramifications on your little getaway trip.Let’s get ready to rumble! As WWE builds up to its annual Wrestlemania event, a new game in the annual series of sports entertainment is never far away. This year’s entry in the franchise shines a light on the Bloodline dynasty that has been a crucial part of the WWE Universe for decades, and taking a page from the NBA games, WWE 2K players will get to explore a new social space populated with custom characters and famous superstars. On top of that, WWE 2K25 will feature tons of modes, hundreds of wrestlers, and several other changes under the hood.Another year, another chance to hit a few home runs with a fresh entry in the longrunning MLB: The Show series. This year’s game features Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson on the cover, and like the previous games, you can expect a trip through history in the showcase mode and a chance to become a baseball legend when MLB: The Show 25 steps up to the plate. Notably, it will not launch on Game Pass this year, as recent entries have; in fact, it won’t come to any subscription services in 2025.33 Immortals looks like a wild new project from the studio behind Spiritfarter and Jotun, and in a nutshell, it’s a multiplayer Hades-like where you and 32 other players fight against waves of relentless monsters. Co-op is of course a major part of the experience, but you’ll also get to grow stronger along your journey to defy God by equipping new weapons and powerful relics. It’ll be available in early access on several platforms this month, and it’ll also be a day-one release through Xbox Game Pass.After two big delays, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally ready to emerge from the shadows this month. Set in feudal Japan and starring two protagonists who have their own methods for resolving conflicts, the new entry in the series will also be laying the groundwork for the future of Assassin’s Creed.A remaster of the Wii U’s Xenoblade Chronicles side-story action-RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles X arrives on Switch this month to complete the franchise saga. As you’d expect with a Wii U port, this version of the lengthy game will feature visual upgrades, new story elements, and a few quality-of-life upgrades.While Ryza’s story may have concluded, the Atelier franchise from developer Gust is pushing forward with a new fantasy RPG adventure featuring the alchemist Yumia. Set in a world where alchemy has been outlawed, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Envisioned Land follows Yumia in her quest to uncover secrets of her past, confront malevolent forces, and make a few friends along the way.Bleach made a big comeback not long ago with the release of a new anime series focused on the manga’s final storyline, and with renewed interest in the saga of Ichigo Kurosaki comes a brand-new fighting game. It has been 15 years since the last Bleach fighting game was released–although Ichigo did star in Jump Force–and Bleach: Rebirth of Souls looks like a sharp clash of blades between Soul Society’s greatest swordsmen. Rebirth of Souls already has an impressive roster of characters, and the game will cover the Substitute Soul Reaper Arc through to the climactic battle against Sosuke Aizen in the Arrancar Arc.This souls-like game with an anime-influenced art direction was first announced back in 2019, and like other games in the genre, it’s full of challenging boss fights, enemies with telegraphed attacks, and satisfying windows of opportunity to counter them. Set in a post-apocalyptic world that has pushed humanity to the brink of extinction, AI Limit puts you in control of Arrisa. The neat gameplay twist to this game is that you’ll gain access to a wide variety of weapons that can deal devastating damage using Sync Rate attacks to unleash extra-powerful blows.Fallout with a British vibe, Atomfall is a new game from Sniper Elite and Strange Brigade developer Rebellion. Set in an alternate version of the 1950s, the game draws upon the real-life nuclear accident during the Windscale fire in 1957 to create an experience influenced by classic British sci-fi like Doctor Who, The Quatermass Xperiment, and more. It’s up to you to discover what really happened at Windscale, a task that involves dealing with the British military, malfunctioning robots, and cultists in the very British post-apocalyptic countryside.The next entry in the Dungeon & Fighter series, The First Berserker: Khazan combines old-fashioned hack-and-slash gameplay with a few souls-like gameplay mechanics. It also looks heavily inspired by the late Kentaro Miura’s Berserk manga series, so it’s a good bet that this will be a grim and brutal action game. The game features Ben Starr–who voiced Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy 16 and recently played Jimbo in a disturbing Balatro advert–as the voice of Khazan.No other game does carnage-fueled action quite like the Killing Floor does, and for the threequel, it looks like a bloody good time is in the cards. Like the previous games, Killing Floor 3 will challenge you to survive against hordes of homicidal Zed mutants while you explore a corporate dystopia, and while the core game looks great, the post-launch support looks even better. Launching cross-play across all platforms and a selection of weekly mutators that’ll keep you on your toes, Killing Floor 3 is shaping up to be a grisly co-op package.
