Galaxy Z Flip 7 has bigger displays and the same thickness in new leak [Gallery] – 9to5Google

Samsung’s next foldable flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, isn’t getting a thinner design like its book-style brethren, as a new leak reveals that the Flip 7 will be a slightly bigger, thick-as-ever iteration of the last model.The Galaxy Z Flip 6 was a minor iteration over the Galaxy Z Flip 5 before it, and it seems Samsung isn’t pushing any boundaries this year either. New CAD-based renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 shared by Android Headlines show off familiar-looking hardware, as Samsung’s new flip phone has the same design as the Flip 6. Being based on CAD files, though, there’s certainly room for Samsung to bring some surprises in the final hardware.The only thing that appears to have changed is the physical size of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, with Samsung’s foldable growing to 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9mm. That’s up from the 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9mm of the Flip 6. The added space doesn’t make the device any thicker, but leaves room for bigger displays. The report claims a 6.8-inch internal display, up from 6.7-inch, with a 3.6.-inch outer display compared to the previous 3.4-inch size. Previous reports claimed a 6.85-inch inner display and an outer display “around” 4 inches.Thickness won’t change, apparently, which will seemingly leave the device at its near-15mm thickness when closed.
