NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Benchmarks Leak, Up To 20% Faster Than RTX 4070 – Wccftech

The first performance benchmarks of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 have leaked out, and it offers an uplift of close to 15% over its predecessor. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 is the last of the officially announced RTX 50 “Blackwell” GPU series. This product is positioned around the $500 US price range with an MSRP set at $549 US, which will be $50 US lower than the introductory price of the RTX 4070, which was also later slashed down to $549 US after the arrival of the 4070 SUPER.NVIDIA has officially confirmed that the GeForce RTX 5070 will be available on retail shelves on the 5th of March, which is a slight delay versus its previously expected launch this month, but we have heard reports that the RTX 5070 won’t face similar stock or supply issues as the high-end lineup & that may be due to the chip it is using which is the Blackwell GB205. This mid-range chip will make an entry in full force on the mobility side of things too, so production will be better. However, we can’t say for sure until the launch day. Also, NVIDIA has confirmed that the missing ROPS on the RTX 50 series only affects the RTX 5090 and 5070 Ti series, though RTX 5080’s are also facing the same issue, so whether the RTX 5070 also ends up with the same “anomaly” is something that we’ll know after the launch. With that said, let’s take a look at some of the leaked performance numbers for the GeForce RTX 5070 and see how it stacks up against the existing product lineup. Do note that the numbers are being compiled using Geekbench, which is a synthetic workload and doesn’t reflect the actual gaming performance of these cards. We only use GeForce GPUs against NVIDIA options and Radeon GPUs against AMD options since the results don’t reflect actual performance versus the two brands due to different levels of driver/app optimizations. In the OpenCL test, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU scored 187,414 points while the Vulkan score ended up at 188,712 points. For comparison, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 scored 167,924 points in the OpenCL test and 156,601 points in the Vulkan test. This shows up to a 20% lead for the RTX 5070 over its predecessor, which is about as much as NVIDIA hinted at (native raster/RT).If we compare the 5070 to the 4070 Ti, then we can see that the Vulkan performance is pretty much identical, but the OpenCL performance sees a bigger gain for the 4070 Ti. The 4070 Ti features the same amount of VRAM but if we compare the card to the 4070 Ti SUPER, the 5070 loses against it and the latter also comes with more VRAM (16 GB vs 12 GB).So, all in all, we can expect the gaming performance to land somewhere between the 4070 Ti and 4070 Ti SUPER, which is a far cry from the RTX 4090 levels of performance that the company claimed during its event showcase. That will only be achievable through DLSS 4 (Multi-Frame-Generation), which isn’t supported by the RTX 40 series. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 will be facing some tough competition from the AMD Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards based on the RDNA 4 architecture, which are expected to offer great performance at competitive pricing, so whether NVIDIA would have to entice gamers but their software innovations and probably a game bundle or two.News Source: BenchleaksSome posts on wccftech.com may contain affiliate links.
