At the bottom of the page, logos for Activision and the developer Iron Galaxy can also be seen.Original Story: [Fri 21st Feb, 2025 04:35 GMT]Earlier this week, professional skater Tyshawn Jones mentioned how he was in a new Tony Hawk remaster “coming out” soon.Well, if that wasn’t already enough to get diehard skateboarding fans excited, Activision’s first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now seemingly teasing a new set of remasters in the Season 2 map ‘Grind’.This returning skatepark-themed map (previously featured in Black Ops 2 and 4) is located in Venice Beach, California and now has a poster inside the skate shop featuring the date “03.04.25” (that’s March 4) in the style of the Tony Hawk font.As many fans have highlighted, the date also happens to match up with previous rumours about the next remasters being the third and fourth entries in the Pro Skater series. An absolute labour of love, true to the originals and brimming with updated QoL features and incredible graphics. I played on PS5 and was blown away. THPS 1&2, alongside Demon’s Souls, are pinnacle remakes I think.In terms of ‘remaster’, I think Metroid Prime is a solid example of how to undertake such a remit.Less exciting for me are games that receive remasters/remakes in instances were the original titles are <10 years old.... Horizon (!) for example.But I played the original THPS on PS1 as a kid, adored those games and played them to death, so I'm slightly biased. I even remember THUG 1&2 being pretty decent.A new TH game would of course be great, but the originals are so old it makes sense to remake.This is a nice and playful way of teasing a game. It has been quite some time, since I played a Tony Hawk game.THPS 3 is just amazing... the best in the series, in my opinion. Great soundtrack too, although I don't know if all of the songs would make it across to a remaster. THPS 4 was, for me, the game where the series began to err. The more open levels just felt a bit empty and soulless to me... I much preferred the tight and jam packed levels of 3.Nice, though I feel like I'm at the stage of holding back on any upcoming unannounced 3rd party multiplatform games in case there's gonna be a Switch 2 version! Rather have that smoother framerate and better graphics, especially for THPS.It seems they're not allowed to announce them yet though? I remember some industry insider said the reason they had that Switch 2 reveal trailer was to allow third parties to announce games for it but there's been nothing... So that was probably BS.F*** YES THPS 3+4!!!!!!! It's just that Activision is THE single most over staffed company in gaming. Even as a division of Microsoft and following on from the requiste Microsoft purge they're total head count is STILL bigger than XBOX. And that's not counting King and Blizzard ACTIVISION BY ITSELF has a bigger head count than Xbox and that all goes to the service of ONE GAME A YEAR.HOW IS COD THAT RESOURCE INTENSIVE?!Yeah I'm not so sure about this, thinking on it some more. Iron Galaxy is so hit and miss (and just laid off enough staff "just to stay afloat"), and 4 is almost a complete dud. Seems dumb.how about tony hawk 3 remaster that give us characters like darth maul,wolverine,a bum,police officer and of course a she devil and watching the the store manager reaction to each character was hilarious especially wen he gets force choke by maul or burning alive with the she devil.That would be exciting if they didn't botch every attempt at a return since the 4th gameI remember when THPS3 was released, I was so pumped to see a new N64 game available to rent in our video store.
