‘Masters of the Universe’ Movie Finds Its Ram-Man as Trio Joins Cast (Exclusive) – Hollywood Reporter

The live-action movie Masters of the Universe is continuing to power up as three castmembers have joined the Amazon MGM Studios project.
Based on the popular Mattel toy line, the film has started production and has added Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein. Nicholas Galitzine was previously announced to star as He-Man in director Travis Knight‘s feature that is set to hit theaters exclusively on June 5, 2026.

Other previously announced castmembers include Camila Mendes (set to portray Teela), Jared Leto (Skeletor), Idris Elba (Duncan/Man-at-Arms), Morena Baccarin (The Sorceress), James Purefoy (King Randor), Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn), Charlotte Riley (Queen Marlena), Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Malcolm/Fisto), Sam C. Wilson (Trap Jaw), Hafthor Bjornsson (Goat Man) and Kojo Attah (Tri-Klops).

Plot details are currently under wraps for Masters of the Universe, which Knight is directing from a script by Chris Butler. The initial draft of the screenplay was penned by David Callaham, Aaron Nee and Adam Nee for the movie that hails from Escape Artists and Mattel Films.
Mattel launched the Masters of the Universe franchise with a line of action figures that debuted in 1982. A year later, the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe premiered in syndication and was followed by video games and other merchandise.
Ram-Man is a warrior known for using his head as a battering ram. Performers to have previously voiced the character include John Erwin in the original 1980s animated series and Danny Trejo in Netflix’s animated sequel series that launched in 2021.
Zamata is a former Saturday Night Live castmember whose recent credits include Marvel’s Agatha All Along and the Netflix animated series Exploding Kittens. She is represented by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Gersh.
Zhang recurred on Netflix’s The Brothers Sun alongside Michelle Yeoh and has also worked as a stunt performer. He is represented by Identity Agency Group and Stride Management.
Vunipola’s previous features include Miguel Wants to Fight and Queenpins.
