Rumour: Kirby: Planet Robobot Will Indeed Come To Switch, It’s Claimed – Nintendo Life

GuestGuestLogin | Sign UpNintendo LifeGuestLogin or Sign UpAnother stopgap? Before Kirby and the Forgotten Land swooped in with its excellent 3D take on the classic Kirby formula, Kirby: Planet Robobot for 3DS was widely regarded as the best entry in the series. Now, according to reliable leaker Nate the Hate, the 2016 platformer may be getting a similar treatment to Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD with an upcoming port on Switch. It seems like a fairly safe bet given that Nintendo will largely be shifting its focus over to the Switch 2 from April onwards. Planet Robobot does sound like a pretty good fit for the Switch, and indeed a good way for fans to pass the time in the coming months. That said, we’d recommend treating this as nothing more than a rumour for the time.Nate the Hate recently correctly predicted the date on which the Nintendo Switch 2 would be officially revealed (16th January, by the way – yeah, it still only feels like yesterday). He also claimed that Xbox’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection would be making its way to the Switch 2 following its eventual launch.A new technological age for KirbyEvery Kirby game rankedWould you like to see Kirby: Planet Robobot on the Nintendo Switch? He also enjoys long walks and listens to everything from TOOL to Chuck Berry.Comments 75Jeez, just when you say, “No way, nuh uh, I will not support Nintendo’s port insanity,” this comes around and I can already see my son saying, “Dad, we need to get this. The whole family loves Kirby.” My three year old daughter even draws the fuzzball. Gah…Day One!I love Kirby and Forgotten Land, my first introduction to Kirby besides playing Smash. The more Kirby games on Switch, the better!!I think I might get the Switch version for second chance as the 3DS version is no where to be founded and if there was one, the price is already inflated. One of the few 3ds first party games I never picked up. I’ll grab it if true.Of course, it’s traditional to have a Kirby port at the end of support for a Nintendo console.Really hope this is true, we haven’t had a Kirby game at all in nearly 2 years since Return to Dream Land Deluxe, so I could definitely see this happening sooner rather than later!Huge loss without the 3DS’s Stereoscopic 3D obviously. But eh, I’d still cave since it’s doing a bit more than you’re typical bland vanilla traditional Kirby entry, and it would nice playing it on a big fat 65″ QD-OLED TV. Might as well bring over LOZ: A Link Between Worlds too.Still, Planet Robobot, including every 3DS title would work perfectly on the Quest 3’s Size adjustable 3D mixed reality screen, and at a much higher resolution than what the 3DS is cooking. That would be the ultimate way to experience it hands down.(>’-‘)> <('-'<) ^('-')^ v('-')v (>‘-‘)> (^-^)Hmmmm. I still want to get Star Allies! Was on the brink of that, but then would I prefer this? More Kirby is good either way though! Hope so.Big if true. Will also buy if true.By the proclamation of the Haltmann Works Company, I command you to pick this game up.I hope this is true. Planet Robobot is likely my favorite 2D Kirby platformer between the wildly fun Robobot Armor, creative levels and excellent boss battles. HAL Lab wouldn’t just make a bare-bones port like Luigi or Donkey Kong, but another Deluxe remake with new content a separate story for Susie. On the one had, I’m down for a Planet Robobot port. For some reason, nobody in my area sells 3DS games released after 2015, Pokémon versions being the exception. On the other hand, we already had our mandatory Kirby handheld remake in Return to Dream Land Deluxe. Having 2 consecutive Kirby games being remakes doesn’t sound like something HAL would do.I want Epic Yarn.Someone please tell me why people believe this guy?I hate it when you guys post rumours, I follow this site for news and not for ruining potential upcoming Directs. At the very least have the thumbnail not showing said game.I never picked it up on the 3ds and I hear it’s one of series highs so I might bite.(psst nintendo, I never picked up Samus Returns either)Really hope this is true!i hope it’s true, I have a copy of the original but my 2DS is dead so I can’t replay itBut where does he say that it’ll just be an HD port similar to Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD? I can’t find him saying what kind of re-release it will beWill believe it when I see it, but man would I love for that to be the case – have already played the original on 3DS, but having it on Switch when I (and others) want to replay it and of course also those who have never played it is the dream! It’s a great game to break free from 3DS but I’d feel sad if Triple Deluxe didn’t also get the same treatmentWell this game is easily the best main series Kirby title but it would feel weird to port this only and not Triple Deluxe along with it.Rumour: Kirby Robobot will come to Switch.New rumour: Kirby Robobot will INDEED come to Switch.I’ll keep on waiting for that Star Fox racing game, though.I have it, (and very much enjoyed it) on 3DS so probably won’t pick this up.Might give Star Allies or Return to Dreamland DX a shot in the near future though!I honestly wish it was Triple Deluxe instead, but I’ve played less of Robobot so I guess it’s fineI remember liking this one more than Triple Deluxe, yet at the same time, I found it difficult to distinguish it from Triple Deluxe in many ways too. I think I like the robobot armor gimmick more than the hypernova gimmick, but apart from that, the games felt very similar in playstyle. It would be a bit strange from them to just release Robobot without Triple Deluxe there too, but then again, I also thought the same thing about Tropical Freeze getting ported without DKC Returns, so whatever, Nintendo does what it does.I’ll pick up a Switch port if it happens but I wish they’d bundle it with Triple Deluxe.Planet Robobot is fantastic and is in my top 3 Kirby games, but it coming to Switch makes no sense to me.Give us Robobot 2!But yeah I’ll likely be buying this.my love for kirby is unlimited and im obsessed with kirby, yet the only game i have is dream buffet 😳😳😳 so before i get excited, maybe i need to play forgotten land…unless i forget about it…😕ha, get it, forget? forgotten land? okay im done here 🤦🏻‍♂️A really great Kirby game. One of my favorites. I’ll buy it again if this is true! When the rumours began about this rerelease, I realised I hadn’t made it far at all with the 3DS version, and decided to try again after years. Now I only have the second boss rush left, and to collect the last stickers… yeah, I’d play this again on the big screen. I always forget just how absorbing Kirby games can be.Forgotten Land has to be what they base future titles on. Not that I know all the previous Kirby games, but it feels like FL elevated the series from okay but messy to the A-league of Nintendo franchises. And it easily outsold every earlier title too, it seems. This is a Switch port I wouldn’t mind because I missed this game originally. Here’s hoping it has significant additions, like Return to Dreamland Deluxe got. It’d be really cool if they added challenge rooms for a handful of copy abilities, and also some for the Robobot as well. Going for platinum medals in those challenges is one of my favorite parts of Return to Dreamland.Would be cool. Although I might give it a miss as I have the big box copy.WANT WANT WANT WANT WA…(gets crushed by a falling anvil)If it’s true then I wonder what they’ll do to expand on the game. Kirby games tend to go all out when it comes to ports, though Return to Dreamland kinda needed it, not this game, so…I’m wondering.(…please don’t make Star Dream Soul even harder than before. >.>)@Anti-Matter I’ve just seen it on a site for less that £40, new.Yay! I hope so! I missed this one, and I never regret a Kirby game.I’ll still take this as a maybe. He also said there was going to be a February Direct and is now saying he has no information on this. Outlets like Nintendo Life should have more journalistic integrity and report things like this with a lot more grains of salt and remind us of how much these leakers backtrack on their claims and not only what predictions they got right. Does seem kind of inevitable.Another one I skipped due to having had enough of the 3DS screen by the time it came out so would buy on SwitchNo Triple Deluxe?A very fun Kirby game and when it does come to Switch, I will be buying it day one.Return to Dreamland Deluxe was far more than a simple hi-rez so I’m hoping the same is applied to a potential Robobot Deluxe. Just no more Magolorland mission nonsense, yeah?Funny enough I recently bought the game brand new from an online store that was selling the UAE version at a discount so I jumped on the chance to buy it. First time I ever played it and it’s really fun.Nice if true, Nintendo should bring Samus return 3d tooKirby Planet Robobot is one of my favorite Kirby games. I probably wouldn’t get it a second time if it was released on Switch though. Not sure if I believe anything Nate the hate says. He is wrong far more often than he is right. Even the few times he is right, it seems to me, he’s just regurgitating rumours, which have a fairly high percentage chance of being right anyway. One of very small amount of Kirby games I never got to play, would definitely buy.@PepperMintRex what you on about? Magoland is insanely fun for multiplayer, and it actually gave me a reason to play the sub games more than once. Not to mention the picks were incredible (Checkerboard Chase HD. Aw yeah.).This is on my 3DS backlog. Bring it to the Switch so I can add it as another backlog. 😂 I’ll probably get it when its on 30-40€ range though. Not paying full price.I have this backlogged on 3DS. So for this to come true, I’ll have to play and beat it just before the official announcement lol. That’s what happened to me when Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe was announced; I’d just tracked down, played, and beat the original. Though ~$30 used still sits better with me than $60 new.@MrGawaininteresting! how have i never noticed? hmmcare to expand on this? how far back does it go?Package Robobot with Triple Deluxe and it would be legendary.Only a rumour so not officially announced.@NintendoWife : “Forgotten Land has to be what they base future titles on. Not that I know all the previous Kirby games, but it feels like FL elevated the series from okay but messy to the A-league of Nintendo franchises.”Are you serious? The franchise was not “ok but messy” before Forgotten Land at all.also have it backlogged on 3ds and would rather play w the 3d effect. tired of the ports at this point too but I get it, its easy money for nintendo.great news. the 3ds price went up recently, so…@FreasurePlanten So labelling the article as a ‘Rumour’ with a sentence recommending readers treat it as such wasn’t quite enough? Okay.@Olliemar28 You mention that the leaker is reliable, that it’s a safe bet and mention the last time he was correct. The general tone is that this information is almost guaranteed but we should take it as a rumour for the time being for it wasn’t officially confirmed. So no, I don’t think it’s enough. But different standards.Reliable leaker is an oxymoron. They’re clout chasers who occasionally get things correct, usually the extremely predictable guesses like a Kirby game at the end of a console life cycle.Yet another Kirby game! What a joke, do they even sell that well?@andyg1412 Forgotten Land sold more than Metroid Dread, dude. This game in particular far exceeded the 1 million mark in its runtime.@FreasurePlanten i sincerely weep for media literacy these days. Woof, man.@NintendoByNature this is the best Kirby Game too, as far as I’m concerned.A remake with switch Graphics would be so good.@andyg1412 They sell reasonably well. And the most important thing is that the production costs are probably not too high as well, so that helps.@LikelySatan Me too.@FreasurePlanten lol.I’m all for more Kirby games on the Switch.@GoldenSunRM good to hear. I’m intrigued.@NeonPizza agreed 3DS is one of my favorite systems but the resolution was pretty poor, so seeing it on a bigger screen is cooler, and being able to share the experience is great too but super lame losing the 3D effect. I am a full blast 3D slider kinda guy. Please please please please I need to replay this game SO BADLY@obijuankanoobie
S3D lives on in Quest 3 & PSVR2, including the best in-class motion controls and blur-free motion clarity(At least with Q3) unlike the OLED TV’s of today. Q3 feels like a successor to the 3DS & Wii and then some. Going back to a flat TV feels completely unnatural since it’s just a flat image in motion, once you get a taste of that realistic 3D depth. I felt the exact same way back in 2011 once i got my Aqua Blue launch 3DS, and got a taste of Pilot Wing Resort & Monkey Ball 3D’s 3D effect. It felt like I was peeking through a window into a miniature virtual world. But ya, 3D and blur-free motion clarity are the 2 missing pieces to the current QD-OLED/TV puzzle. @andyg1412 Why are you sounding upset about a Kirby game getting produced? This is a second-party franchise developed by Hal Lab not the main in-house devs of Nintendo so that’s not like the series is stealing a slot for another Nintendo’s. Being upset because a franchise is getting more games isn’t productive. Also the series had no release last year so it’s not like as if they’re milking it.And yes, they sell pretty well (especially for a franchise that is primarily on handhelds), Forgotten Land is a big success.@LikelySatan What does “Media Literacy” really means? Also why saying “woof”?@G_and_Thomas dear God.We will definitely be getting it but I hope we don’t have to wait a long time for another 3D Kirby game ’cause we loved ‘Kirby and the Forgotten Land’ and would love a sequel. 😀 Show CommentsLeave A CommentHold on there, you need to login to post a comment…Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch Games… and the Switch 2!Nintendo Talks About Future Switch Support Ahead Of Switch 2 Launch”We would like to continue releasing new titles”Metroidvania ‘Chronicles Of The Wolf’ Takes A Few Cues From Castlevania IIAh-woooooo!Rumour: Placeholder Retail Listing Suggests Switch 2 Price Might Be Cheaper Than Expected500 CAD, but it’s “PALCE HOLDER”Nintendo Switch Hardware Sales Pass 150 Million, With PS2’s Record Still A Way OffSomething’s waiting in the wingsFeatured Games 28Talking Point Why An LCD Screen Isn’t The End Of The World For Switch 2 12News Nope, Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Still Won’t Spill The Beans On A Switch 2 Port 2Random Someone’s Created A Motorised Mario Kart LEGO Set 21News An NES LucasArts Adventure Classic May Be Getting A Spiritual Successor 28News Retailer GAME Accused Of “Scalping” Pokémon Cards Thanks To Insane Delivery FeesNews Nintendo Shuts Down Live-Action Zelda Fan Film, ‘Lost In Hyrule’News Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch GamesNews Nintendo Talks About Future Switch Support Ahead Of Switch 2 LaunchNews Metroidvania ‘Chronicles Of The Wolf’ Takes A Few Cues From Castlevania IIRumour Placeholder Retail Listing Suggests Switch 2 Price Might Be Cheaper Than…Random Hideki Kamiya Would Rather You Not Play Okami On The WiiNews Don’t Worry, Nintendo’s Thinking About Affordability With Switch 2 PricingNews Nintendo Confirms Timings For The Switch 2 Direct In AprilGuide 98 Games You Should Pick Up In Nintendo’s ‘Play On’ eShop Sale (Europe)Guide 69 Games You Should Pick Up In Nintendo’s ‘Supercharge’ eShop Sale (Nort…Popular Right NowShow More Join 1,508,025 people following Nintendo Life:© 2025 Hookshot Media, partner of IGN Entertainment | Hosted by 44 Bytes | AdChoices | Do Not Sell My Personal Information
