GTA 6 Publisher Reiterates a Fall 2025 Release Window – Push Square
GuestGuestLogin | Sign UpPush SquareGuestLogin or Sign UpTake-Two confident GTA 6 will launch this yearTake-Two, the publisher of GTA 6 and owner of Rockstar Games, has reiterated the firm’s intentions to release the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in the Fall 2025 calender window.The update comes from the company’s latest financial earnings call, where it is said: “Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on February 11th, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4.”Separately, speaking to Variety, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick added: “We’ve announced a pretty narrow window. So I think our view is that right now, that’s fine. And then when it’s appropriate, of course, Rockstar is going to have more to say.” Another quote from the same article claims we’ll get a Borderlands 4 release date “soon”.Zelnick also discussed the matter with IGN, where he explained “there’s always a risk” of a delay, but the company feels “really good” about its current release window, suggesting there’s a good chance Rockstar Games won’t be forced into a delay.All the key GTA 6 details you need to know”Look, I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally,” he said when queried on development status. “We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I would actually love that, but they will probably waste like 500 million in advertisingwith how little we’ve seen of the game I really doubt it’s releasing this Fall. It’s GTA6 after all, the media cycle is surely going to be looong with a big presence in all the big events.I look at a fall 2025 release as already a one year delay. My gut tells me that the release was delayed more because 5 was still printing lots of money than being delayed for other reasons.Spring 2026, like April maybe. That happened with GTAIV, but nobody knows. I love when they do that, although, at this moment in gaming history, they are probably the only ones left that could save all those promotional funds, use it elsewhere, and still sell the same.@NoCode23 well GTA5 printing money was for sure not bad, but don’t forget that 2020-2021 covid delays harmed the whole industry, so yeah, there are other realistic reasons.Im probably going to be the only weirdo not playing this when it comes out 😅. GTA6 is a guaranteed fortune when released, its money in the bank. However when 6 releases GTA5’s money printing will almost overnight decrease significantly.GTA 5 been nearly pure profit for years, and the GTA5 money has been enough to probably pay most of GTA 6. Any planned delay would be then to milk the GTA5 cash cow for as long as possible while delaying the known instant fortune 6, new cash printer, will provide when released.It’s just my hunch, and yes whenever 6 is released I will begin a most probable hundreds of hours of my time playing and replaying it on and off line.
