The results are in: The 2025 Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles last night, and amid the star-spangled performances and red-carpet arrivals, the Recording Academy used the occasion to right some longstanding wrongs.Having gone into the night with a whopping 11 nominations—bringing her career total to 99—Beyoncé finally took home a golden gramophone for Album of the Year, with Cowboy Carter beating the likes of Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Charli XCX to the prize. Kendrick Lamar also got overdue recognition in a Big Four category: He converted all five of his nominations for the blockbuster Drake diss “Not Like Us,” including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The gala sang along to a particularly incendiary excerpt—for which Lamar’s label is currently facing legal action from Drake—as he collected the former prize.
