The 2025 Grammys were handed out Sunday, with Beyoncé taking home the top award of the night for album of the year and Kendrick Lamar sweeping all the categories in which he was nominated, including song and record of the year.
Beyoncé won album of the year along with best country album for Cowboy Carter. During the premiere ceremony, she won her first award of the night, taking home her first country Grammy for best country duo/group performance for “II MOST WANTED” featuring Miley Cyrus, making her the first Black woman to win a country Grammy in 50 years. The album of the year award was presented by members of the Los Angeles Fire Department as a way to recognize them for their efforts to contain the wildfires that blazed through the city last month.

During the live telecast on CBS, Lamar won both song and record of the year for “Not Like Us,” dedicating his record of the year win to Los Angeles in the wake of the wildfires that ravaged the city last month. (His wins come exactly a week before he’s scheduled to perform at Super Bowl LIX.) Lamar also scored Grammy wins for “Not Like Us” during the premiere ceremony, including best music video, best rap song and best rap performance. He also extended his record as the most-awarded rapper in the best rap performance category to seven wins.
Chappell Roan won the award for best new artist, while Sabrina Carpenter won pop vocal album for Short n’ Sweet. During the premiere ceremony, Carpenter won best pop solo performance for “Espresso” and best remixed recording for “Espresso (Mark Ronson x FNZ Working Late Remix),” marking her first-ever Grammy wins.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars won the award for best pop duo/group performance for “Die With a Smile.” Shakira won the award for best Latin pop album for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.
Doechii won the award for best rap album for Alligator Bites Never Heal. She noted that she was only the third female ever to win in that category.
Also during the show, Queen Latifah presented Alicia Keys with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, and a slew of stars paid tribute to the late Quincy Jones. The Weeknd made a surprise appearance, performing after a past boycott of the Grammys.
The majority of this year’s awards were handed out during the preshow premiere ceremony. The premiere ceremony, hosted by Justin Tranter, kicked off with an opening performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” with Yolanda Adams, Wayne Brady, Scott Hoying, Deborah Cox, Angélique Kidjo and Taj Mahal. Other performers during the preshow included Joe Bonamassa, Muni Long and Béla Fleck.

Harvey Mason jr., CEO of The Recording Academy, later took to the stage to share a few inspiring words at the beginning of the ceremony: “This year, we’re also going to honor music’s great power to inspire, to heal and to unite. Because of the recent fires that devastated Los Angeles, we’re also going to recognize the resilience of our community and celebrate our first responders and do our very best to lift up this city that we love.” Throughout the preshow and televised ceremony, the Grammys are raising awareness and funds for L.A. wildfire relief.
Also during the premiere ceremony, Charli XCX took home her first Grammy. She won the Grammys for best pop dance recording for “Von dutch,” and best dance/electronic album and best recording package for Brat.
In the R&B categories, Muni Long won best R&B performance for “Made for Me (Live on BET),” SZA won best R&B song for “Saturn” and Chris Brown won best R&B album for 11:11 (Deluxe).
Later in the preshow, The Beatles took home the Grammy for best rock performance for “Now and Then.” Bradley Cooper also won a Grammy for best compilation soundtrack for visual media for the Maestro. Hans Zimmer won for best score soundtrack for visual media for Dune: Part Two.
Among the nominees who went home empty-handed were Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.
The 67th annual Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah, aired live on Sunday from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Grammys premiere ceremony streamed before the televised show from the Peacock Theater. Check out all the Grammy red carpet arrivals here.

A complete list of the 2025 Grammy nominations follows. Winners will be noted as they’re announced live. Refresh for the latest.
