Report: Drew McIntyre stormed out of Royal Rumble after elimination gone wrong – Cageside Seats
Filed under:Angle alert!Drew McIntyre was unceremoniously eliminated by Damian Priest in the men’s Royal Rumble match earlier this evening (Sat., Feb. 1, 2025) at the Royal Rumble premium live event at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. It seemed like a strange elimination that came out of nowhere at the hands of Damian Priest, who McIntyre doesn’t currently have an active story with, though they did have issues in the past. Now, a new report from PW Insider claims McIntyre was furious over how he was eliminated, as he allegedly went backstage and did some “screaming and cursing” about how “someone had to get their moves in,” even at the expense of planned stories in the match. Then, per same report, he stormed out of the building before the match or event was over.Too bad he missed that awesome Jey Uso win. This is a recurring theme now with McIntyre, who also stormed out when CM Punk returned to WWE. That situation was debated endlessly regarding whether it was a work or shoot, and eventually it was turned into an on-screen program that did big business for everyone. This certainly feels like it plays right into the same idea, though it’s unclear where it could be going.Stay tuned.Get complete Royal Rumble results and coverage of the entire show by clicking here.Check your inbox for a welcome email.Oops.
