Google Photos now has a dark theme on the web – 9to5Google

After Drive and Calendar in recent months, Google Photos on the web now has a dark theme.A banner today in the top-right corner informs users of this long-overdue addition: “Dark mode is here! You can now apply a dark theme to Photos.” Tap the settings gear icon for the new “Appearance” menu below the backup quality options. You have Light, Dark, and Use device default.The rounded gallery background is darker than the area outside that houses the side bar, search field, and other buttons. The default blue accent color is leveraged throughout. It’s otherwise pretty straightforward, and helps make the transition from the grid to image viewer (with a black background) less stark.The dark theme in Google Photos for web joins Search, YouTube, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Gemini. Web adoption is still lacking compared to mobile. Personally, I want it in Google Docs. (What’s your wishlist?
