Last updated: January 29th, 2025 at 12:36 UTC+01:00 Samsung has improved the new Galaxy S25 series over its predecessor in many ways — except for that one thing regarding the S25 Ultra S Pen. The latest phones are at least just as good as or better than the 2024 models. One particular issue Samsung appears to have addressed with its Galaxy S25 flagship phones is the grainy screen.
In early 2024, following the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, there was some fuss about the flagship’s displays after users discovered an unusual behavior.
On the one hand, the S24 panels were brighter and better in nearly every aspect, save for one. On the other hand, many Galaxy S24 displays exhibited an unusual grainy texture at very low brightness levels. It was unlike anything people have ever seen on Samsung’s premium phones.
Thankfully, it appears that the issue was addressed by the Galaxy S25 series (or at least the S25 Ultra), as demonstrated through a photo shared by @UniverseIce — the same tipster who called for a lawsuit against Samsung due to the aforementioned Galaxy S24 display issues.

The phone to the left is the new Galaxy S25 Ultra, and to its right, there’s the Galaxy S24 Ultra exhibiting a grainy texture at the lowest brightness level in complete darkness. As you can see, the Galaxy S25 Ultra display looks smoother and uniform.
Thankfully, the problem the Galaxy S24 series had never really bothered a lot of people. The displays were still gorgeous, and these artifacts were visible only in specific conditions.
Regardless, the issue existed, and many people felt like it shouldn’t have. So, if you’ve ever been bothered by this grainy display problem on the Galaxy S24, Samsung appears to have done a better job with the Galaxy S25 series.
Or at least the issue is gone for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The photo above only shows the Ultra model(s), but we’re guessing it’s a similar story for the base and Plus S25 variants. We’ll let you know if we find any proof of the contrary.
